Yesterday Donald Trump used families of murder victims to further vilify immigrants.

Trump invited families of Americans killed by those in the country illegally to tell their stories of being “permanently separated” from their loved ones, an implicit comparison to the temporary family separations carried out under his hard-line policy.

“We’re gathered today to hear directly from the American victims of illegal immigration,” Trump said at a hastily organized White House event. “You know, you hear the other side, you never hear this side. You don’t know what’s going on. These are the American citizens permanently separated from their loved ones.

“The word ‘permanently’ being the word that you have to think about. Permanently. They’re not separated for a day or two days, these are permanently separated because they were killed by criminal illegal aliens.”

Trump and many of the family members who spoke criticized what they called one-sided media coverage that does not focus on their stories.

Trump gathering these poor grieving families to smear immigrants is disgusting.

Especially since the statistics prove that immigrants are actually far less likely to commit crimes in this country than American citizens:

The first study, published by the libertarian Cato Institute in February, examines criminal conviction data for 2015 provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety. It found that native-born residents were much more likely to be convicted of a crime than immigrants in the country legally or illegally.

“As a percentage of their respective populations, there were 56 percent fewer criminal convictions of illegal immigrants than of native-born Americans in Texas in 2015,” author Alex Nowrasteh writes. “The criminal conviction rate for legal immigrants was about 85 percent below the native-born rate.”

The data shows similar patterns for violent crimes such as homicide and property crimes such as larceny.

And Trump knows about these statistics as well, he just refuses to believe them:

“I always hear that, ‘Oh, no, the population’s safer than the people that live in the country,” Trump said, referring to statistical evidence he rejects that shows those in the country illegally commit crime at a lower rate than legal residents.

“You’ve heard that, fellas, right? You’ve heard that. I hear it so much, and I say, ‘Is that possible?’” Trump said.

“The answer is it’s not true. You hear it’s like they’re better people than what we have, than our citizens. It’s not true,” he said.

Remember, fake news is any news that refutes the “truth” of what Donald Trump is saying.

So he just stands there, lying about people coming to this country looking for a better life, and uses the pain of families who have lost loved ones to deflect criticism of his draconian policies.

This man is not just unfit to be the president of the United States, this man is unfit to be called a human being.

They must be hiding something to prevent the Red Cross from entering

If he had brought together the families who lost loved ones to gun violence in just one day he would have needed a much bigger stage.

And not one of those murdered would have been the victim of violence at the hands of immigrants.

Yep, disgusting. I like the final touch of autographing the cardboard posters of their dead loved ones. Awww, how sweet.

What a shitshow, I watched about 15 minutes of this before I realized I was losing my mind to this infantile garbage can of a person.

I remember thinking Bush/Cheney we’re the worst. Haha, those were good times compared to this pustule on the anus of the country.

What does it say about these people that want him to autograph a photo of their dead family member? Who would even thing of doing such a thing.

      • Anon June 24, 2018 at 3:56 am

Did they or any family make the request for an autographed photo of the deceased? Or is that another lie for staged optics.
It strikes me as a grandiose act.

“During the event Trump autographed photos of the deceased young people that were featured at the event”

Not to sound heartless, but no one forced these families to be there and allow trump to use their loved ones as political fodder. It’s he’s so upset about families being permanently separated from loved ones, why hasn’t he done anything about assault weapons or bump stocks or …… Vegas, parkland, Sutherland Springs, Santa Fe, the waffle house in south Carolina. Never will happen. He doesn’t give a shit about anyone but himself

    He is disgusting.
It is not going to end well for him or the Republicans.

Let’s hope they go before they do something even more vicious and horrible. Although I can’t think what, I am sure Steve Miller, will think of something.

As far as I am concerned this is human rights abuse and grounds for impeachment, too bad the republicans have no conscience.

Outraged Democrats Explode After Getting A Look Inside Trump’s Child Prison

A group of two dozen Democratic lawmakers could not contain their disgust, sadness, and rage after getting a tour of the inside of Trump’s migrant child prison.

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) said, “The first place that we visited had nothing on the floor. These were small children, many of them under the age of five who were separated from their parents, and were crying. Here they actually have a mat on which to sleep. But it is for all intents and purposes, a prison. They are cages.”

We have a situation where children are sleeping alone on mats in cages and Trump has no problem with it.

Rep. Jim Himes said, (D-CT) said, “Something happened this morning that I will never forget. My colleagues from Connecticut, and four of us are here, approached one of these holding cells and there were just mounds of silver mylar. And we asked to speak to somebody who was there, and as they opened the door, these twenty or thirty mounds of silver mylar became little girls. They stood up; they were scared, some had been crying.”…..

Yep, he loves his rallies because they are just like him, he has shown us who he is and we need to believe him, He is a sociopathic monster/
On the issue of Trump and his “base.” Something. Doesn’t. Add. Up.

…..Personally, I believe that we’re right, and that at this point, Trump’s Trombie base will never desert him. He doesn’t really need to keep doing these Olympic 10 meter dives into the cesspool of bigotry, hatred, and misogyny. I think that the true explanation is much darker and more sinsiter I think that Trump says and does these things because this is who he truly is, and he loves to surround himself with other kindred souls.
