So uncomfortable, and so hard to turn away from, it’s like a comedic traffic accident.
Courtesy of Vanity Fair:
In the episode, the comedian—disguised as his Israeli security expert Erran Morad—chatted with Moore about defensive technologies before introducing Moore to an electric wand that could purportedly detect pedophiles. You can guess what happened next.
Pretty soon after the “pedophile detector” was broken out, Moore abruptly left the interview. Perhaps Cohen could have gotten more out of Moore with a subtler prank—but either way, the way Moore stared at Cohen as he whipped the instrument out and started scanning was pretty unforgettable, as was the nervous smile he cracked when it started beeping.
Clearly, though, Moore was not amused by the joke. Before his Who Is America? episode even aired, he threatened legal action against Showtime in a statement that read, in part, “I am involved in several court cases presently to defend my honor and character against vicious false political attacks by liberals like Cohen. If Showtime airs a defamatory attack on my character, I may very well be involved in another.”
Yeah. good luck with that child molester.
I actually posted the video up above to the front page of IM last night but then thought that it deserved its own post and a little explanation.
There was also a segment not shown in this clip where this same Cohen character convinced some rednecks to dress like a young girl, complete with fake vajayjay, and a pinata in order to catch Muslim’s in the act of raping young girls.
The highlight is when the actual, honest to goodness police show up.
To be fair this program has also targeted a few liberals though it never quite gets the same results that it achieves with its more conservative targets.
