This is the investigation that the Republicans and Trump fought so hard against.

President Trump on Friday ordered the FBI to conduct a “supplemental” investigation into the allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh but wants it completed within a week.
“I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file,” Trump said in a statement. “As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week.”
Earlier, the Senate Judiciary Committee said it is requesting that Trump “instruct the FBI” to conduct the investigation, which would be “limited to current credible allegations against the nominee and must be completed no later than one week from today.”
Kavanaugh said in a statement he will cooperate.
“Throughout this process, I’ve been interviewed by the FBI, I’ve done a number of ‘background’ calls directly with the Senate, and yesterday, I answered questions under oath about every topic the Senators and their counsel asked me,” Kavanaugh said in a statement. “I’ve done everything they have requested and will continue to cooperate.”

There have been some rumblings that this investigation will be all for show and that it will not extend to any new allegations, nor will it be very comprehensive.
If that is the case the Democrats and American people need to continue to make noise until we get a real investigation into the allegations put forward, not just by Dr. Ford, but also the other women who have come forward, and any who might follow.
There is at least a bit more positive news, and that is that the ever elusive Mark Judge has agreed to participate in the investigation as well.

A lawyer for Mark Judge, the high school buddy of embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, told CNBC that Judge “will answer any and all questions posed to him” by the FBI about serious sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.
The cooperation offer came after several senators asked for Kavanaugh’s final confirmation vote to be delayed until the FBI has a chance to investigate claims that he tried to rape a 15-year-old high school girl in the early 1980s while Judge looked on.
“If the FBI or any law enforcement agency requests Mr. Judge’s cooperation, he will answer any and all questions posed to him,” Judge’s lawyer Barbara Van Gelder told CNBC in an email.
Well, it certainly appears that things are moving in the right direction.
Let’s all wait and see what the Republicans and Trump do to sabotage the process, shall we?
