The NRA seems quite frightened of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The National Rifle Association is running scared of socialists.

Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s primary win over Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday prompted the gun lobbying group to issue a panic-stricken call to arms.

“Left-wing socialists have infiltrated our nation and want to fundamentally change the country we love,”NRATV host Grant Stinchfield warns in an over-the-top video clip posted online Wednesday. “The socialist movement in America is real. It is dangerous. And it is more powerful than you may think.”

Now why would such a young woman scare such a powerful organization?

Could it be the power of her ideas?

The fact that she represents many more Americans just like her, eager to vote against Republican interests?

Or could it be something else?

Courtesy of The Hill:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Wednesday that she would support impeachment for President Trump if she wins in November.

The 28-year-old democratic socialist, fresh off a shocking primary upset over 10-term incumbent Rep. Joseph Crowley (D) in New York’s 14th District, made the comments in an interview on CNN.

“I would support impeachment,” the first-time candidate and former Bernie Sanders campaign organizer said. “I think that you know, we have the grounds to do it.”

“Ultimately, what we need to focus on is ensuring that when people break the law … that we have to hold everyone accountable and that no person is above that law,” she added.

Ah, well this could certainly be it couldn’t it?

Ocasio-Cortez is clearly not playing it safe and seems undeterred by charges that she is not being civil or is pushing too hard for change.

The NRA and Donald Trump are essentially joined at the hip, and once he goes down that organization, and its ties to Russia, are going to be carefully and thoroughly investigated.

““For an end to this gratuitous dickishness, what can we give you?” “You dig the dictator thing. How about a giant building with gold toilets and your name on it?” When Colbert whispered to him that Trump already has that, he suggested
“a whole news network that spends 24 hours a day praising everything you do.””“Clearly, we’re not going to be able to negotiate or shame you into decency, but there is one place where I draw the line: I won’t allow you and your sycophants to turn your cruelty into virtue,””

Yeah. A little late Barack. Considering that he could have exposed Russia long before the election. Right after his first win. But he just wanted to “visit” Alaska.
And here we are, with him stumbling words. Eyeroll. Shake of head. Too late.

Well, this is just fucking ignorant.

“want to fundamentally change the country we love”

Isn’t this EXACTLY what the right wing wants to do?
    – eliminate all social programs
    – muzzle the press except for right wing conservative outlets
    – repeal all environmental, labor and financial protections
    – roll back minority, women and LGBT rights
    – create a conservative christian theocracy
    – create a permanent conservative majority in the SCOTUS and all federal courts
    – repeal the ACA
    – eliminate all gun control laws
    – give unlimited power to the wealthy and corporations
    – drastically reduce voter access for anyone not voting Republican and create permanent conservative control of the federal, state and local governments
    – decimate public education and turn what’s left into religious schools promoting christian conservativism
    – control all media and limit access to the internet
    – create legislation specifically designed to punish blue states
    – establish laws that control and enforce approved forms of patiotism
    – limit the ability of all non-conservative citizens and organizations to protest the government
    – permanently isolate the United States and withdraw from all international alliances

She appeared on Colbert last night and he had her list what is in her agenda: healthcare for all as a basic human right, I can see why the right is afraid of her.

    Also she is very articulate!!

I’m so happy she won. Let’s send her all the way to speak out fiercely in Congress!

Young Socialists should spend some time in Cuba and Venezuela, to see how absolutely fantastic Socialism is working for the people.

    • Gryphen June 29, 2018 at 6:03 pm

How about how it has worked in this country?

I don’t know about you but I really enjoy having public schools, Social Security, the Post Office, Medicare, Medicaid, FEMA, and a number of other programs and perks that come to us courtesy of socialist philosophies.

      • Anonymous June 30, 2018 at 1:52 am

Really, that is the comeback? Public schools (pretty much suck, unless you live in a well to do area with high property taxes), social security (a big maybe), the post office (been draining money for decades), Medicare/Medicaid (the best of the bunch you have listed, ain’t saying much), FEMA (has pretty much messed up everything it has touched since this bureaucratic agency began).

You do realize this young lady is a Bernie Bro don’t you? She is either going to crash and burn, or completely change face once she finds out what she is up against and what it takes to stay in office. Free college tuition lol? Can we get reparations on that one, I’d like my college tuition paid for that I worked thru school and took out loans to finish. Gimme a break.

        • Anonymous June 30, 2018 at 4:58 am

Actual the post office makes a profit, public schools are a mess because republicans won’t give them money. you bought the kool aid on social security.

Do you not understand the difference between Socialism and DEMOCRATIC Socialism or do you simply not give a damn?

You want comparisons? How about Germany’s fascism during WWII and Trump’s administration and policies?

If I have to choose between the Republican Party’s Fascism and Democratic Socialism I’ll choose the Democrats every time.

        I’ll make it simple:

        Repubicans = cruelty

        Democrats = compassion.
