The First Lady is publicly calling for somebody, anybody, to come perform at the White House this Christmas season.

Isn’t it still August?

The White House is putting out a casting call for some Christmastime entertainment, giving musicians, singers and others the chance to perform at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

With less than five months to go until Dec. 25, the White House said Friday that “initial planning for the 2018 season is underway.”

In addition to its annual call for volunteers to decorate the executive mansion for the holidays, this year the White House is also asking for entertainers to join the Yuletide festivities.

The White House “invites local musicians including high school bands, choirs, and Christmas-themed entertainers to apply for the opportunity to perform during the Holiday Open Houses throughout the month of December,” a statement from first lady Melania Trump’s White House press office said.
“This is the first time to my knowledge that the application process has been made open to the public in this manner,” Jennifer Pickens, a White House social expert and author of “Christmas at the White House,” tells ITK.

Yeah, I don’t remember the Obamas EVER having to advertise on Craig’s List for artists to come and perform at the White House.

In fact, I think that if they had held an open casting call that the line of A-list entertainers would have extended all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue.

But hey who can blame the Trumps?

After all the only people they could get to play at the inaugural was The Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Rockettes, and some chick who placed second on “America’s Got Talent.”

LOL, since neither Melanomia nor trump have any cultural interest I am not surprised they have to place an ad, can’t Mikey pence find some “good Christian group”? I have a feeling this is going to be a really redneck Christmas.

After last years dismal display of the dark twig forest, I hope she gets help in decorating this year.

Also don’t forget many of The Rockettes were present under duress!!

Hopefully that will be added to the emoluments lawsuit.

HAH! How low do you have to go?
“Local musicians?” Translated: Anyone famous, there goes your career.
Can you imagine how their agents laughed in the phone?

Why not get newest Teen Mom up there cradling Atlee in her arms singing “Away In The Manger?” Price too high?

Maybe she can’t carry a tune.

I’m sure Dump and his Thug Boys would be entertained by a good old, down home, Palin brawl. You hear that Baldy? Better be putting in your application. It doesn’t pay, but you’ll get your chance to juggle clown balls again. Hey! That can be your encore! Lmao @ that groveling bitch.

I do not expect the Trumps to hold any cultural events.

    • Anonymous August 3, 2018 at 8:22 pm

He wouldn’t even show up for the Kennedy Center Honors, as presidents past have in respect to JFK. Of course they don’t.

      • Anonymous August 4, 2018 at 4:34 pm

Glad you reminded us 8:22, of the Kennedy Center Honors. The Trumps exhibit a disdain for anything cultural…what an embarrassment they are to the American people (but not to the Trumpsters of course).

I would imagine that by now all the local high school bands have their Christmas plans already made, even if they haven’t. I doubt any of them want to rehearse for weeks to perform in a coarse Trump environment and not get a penny for it.

Arranging a 3 piece bar band in the lobby of the NY rump tower is more appropriate. The rumps will not be staining the white house at Christmas, they will be GONE, out and bad history by then. Americans are bleaching the White House down. She should be calling the moving vans to get their chit out of the building pronto.

Yep, that’s the reason she said local. But my guess is most of those DC groups are people of color and good conscience who wouldn’t want to be associated with the racist shitgibbon.

Non-local groups cost $$. They have to pay for bus transportation and accommodations. Those trips cost Thousands, even if just for a night. And who wants to ruin their winter holiday time or take time off from required school days at finals time for such a dubious “honor?”

Has anyone ever explained that bizarre photo taken at the Congressional luncheon on Inauguration Day? Don the Con and the third wife look about as miserable as human beings can.

On the subject of the Christmas holidays, why not invite the Red Army Chorus to come and perform? I’m sure they’d be glad to.

HGTV did not do a show about the White House Christmas decorations last year, did it? I really enjoyed those programs. The volunteer decorators from all over the country always seemed to have such fun and they worked so hard over Thanksgiving vacation.

In the end, I doubt that either Don the Con or the third wife have ever celebrated a very joyful Christmas season. And I doubt they ever will.

PS. O/T Did anyone else feel very depressed after the Bill Maher show last evening (Friday)?

    • Anonymous August 4, 2018 at 6:17 am

Depressed, no. Vindicated, yes. When Kristen Soltis Anderson (not a fan) brought up Palin, and Steve Schmidt right next to her remained silent. Yeah, take that!
Schmidt made some very salient points, yet cannot realize how complicit he is in this mess.

      • Beaglemom August 4, 2018 at 7:00 am

I felt “vindicated” in the short term but terribly concerned by the long term right-wing conspiracy (yes, that’s the correct word) to end the United States of America that millions of people have worked hard to attain for over 200 years and that the Duke University professor (I cannot remember her name right now) described so clearly in the second interview. All of it, all of it makes sense now and none of it looks good for this country or for the world.

In the twilight of my life, I ache for my children and grandchildren. There was a time when we worked to make life better for those around us and following us.
Wildfires in California and Oregon have nothing on this administration. Nancy MacClean was spot on.

I’m thinking along your lines Beaglemom…The Donald and Malaria should invite some Russian dancers to perform.

    • Anonymous August 4, 2018 at 7:26 pm

Last year I only saw photos of the dark, depression twig decor they had it some corridor. It was suppose to be some German Christmas Theme. Guess this year they can be open about it and do the Russian Theme since putin is running the show.
