Paul McGuire once wrote a book called “Trumpocalypse: The End Times President, a Battle Against the Globalist Elite,” which suggests he’s *slightly* biased in favor of the president. He confirmed that bias once again during an appearance on the Prophecy in the News webcast, where he declared that Trump is a mission from God to “harvest” souls.
“We believe very strongly, to be blunt, that God raised up Donald Trump to give America a divine reprieve,” McGuire said.
According to McGuire, the “globalist elites” are trying to destroy Trump because he poses a threat to their plan to establish a “godless one-world order.”
Getting emotional, McGuire went on to speak about “God’s plan for America” and how the “Bible integrated with our society and politics” has “birthed the most powerful nation in the history of civilization because it was on a foundation of Christianity, not secular humanism or progressivism or Marxism.”
“Now we’ve lost that and God has given us a man who just happens to believe in America, capitalism, free enterprise, he happens to believe in God, he has decency and character,” he continued, speaking of Trump.
“Decency of character,” Donald Trump?”
Now there are those who will claim that this guy is a lunatic and not indicative of the average Trump supporter, but I would argue that he is not that far afield of the average Trumpster.
What’s more is that I would assert that it is this very faith in a supernatural worldview which convinces people to support somebody as clearly flawed as Donald Trump.
This McGuire fellow described Trump as an “imperfect man” divinely chosen to deliver God’s people to salvation.
By making that leap completely away from any sense of logic, these people can rationalize, or excuse, virtually ANYTHING that Trump does so long as they continue to believe that he is ultimately an instrument of God’s will.
There is simply no way to argue against a belief like that with the use of mere facts.
