Yeah, that’s not gonna fly.
So the Daily Mail, the Palin’s go to news outlet, did a nauseating in-depth interview with Sarah and Todd for reasons that completely escape me.
In the piece, Palin was allowed to once again reinforce their family mythology about her pregnancy with Trig, her marriage to Todd, and her daughter’s teen pregnancy.
But then Palin touched on Track’s legal problems and introduced what I think is a new fairy tale to explain his recent behaviors.
Courtesy of the Daily Mail:
Todd said Track, 29, is now doing well and in college, but he blames the Army for his son’s problems.
‘They go off to combat and they come back and, from what I gather, they go into some office they go OK where were you?’ he said.
‘ Well you were here and there and here, so how about 600 bucks a month for the rest of your life and how about you take these pills?
‘I wish there was a reentry boot camp for our soldiers returning, time to build them back up mentally and physically strong.’
And Sarah too slammed the lack of help their son received on his discharge from the military.
‘There is no good transition process for these young women from military life into civilian life.
Cutting to the chase with typical Palin bluntness, she pointed out the heart of the problem.
‘If you think about it, who is orchestrating the whole transition process?’ she asked. ‘It’s people in the military who have never transitioned their career.’
Okay first off do we really think that Track is attending college?
I mean I guess it’s not entirely impossible, but I also remember that at one time Bristol was also supposed to be attending a college and THAT obviously never happened.
Secondly, let me just point out that Tracks’ problems were well documented BEFORE he went off to join the military, in fact, they were the reason WHY he was forced to enlist. (Joe McGinniss documented as much in his book “The Rogue.”)
Thirdly while overseas Track did NOT see combat as proven by his discharge papers which do not include that CIB (Combat Infantry Badge) which is given to ALL infantrymen and special forces who ACTIVELY participate in combat.
Trust me Track’s problems predate his military service by several years.
And another thing if the Palins were so upset with how their son’s time in the military had damaged his psyche, why in the world would they then push their daughter into a relationship with an ex-Marine who had publicly discussed his ongoing PTSD and his thwarted suicide attempt?
It simply does not make any sense.
No, Palin is simply deflecting blame for her family’s crazy behaviors by laying the blame anywhere she can find to lay the blame.
And shame on the Daily Mail for providing them a platform on which to spread their pernicious lies.
