Oops, somebody has been naughty!

Courtesy of Rolling Stone:

Their love story may have bridged the divide between the plains of South Dakota and the wilds of Siberia, but the five-year romance between GOP consultant Paul Erickson and alleged Russian agent Maria Butina may be headed for a crack-up – leaving Erickson in legal jeopardy.

In a federal court filing, prosecutors allege that Butina has offered to flip on Erickson — who is also identified as “Person 1” in case documents. “Although the defense contends that the defendant is in a committed relationship with Person 1,” the feds write, “she recently offered to provide information to the government about his illegal activities.”

Erickson did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment on allegations of wrongdoing. But elsewhere in the filing, prosecutors underscore that “there is an ongoing fraud investigation examining the activities of U.S. Person 1.” The federal document also states plainly: “U.S. Person 1 has aided the defendant’s charged criminal activity for years.” It elaborates that Erickson played an “integral role in the defendant’s efforts to establish an informal line of communication between the Kremlin and the incoming Presidential Administration, knowing that she was acting at the direction of the Russian Official.”

(Here is a picture of Butina with Paul Erickson.)

I just watched the Movie “Red Sparrow” recently, and while there is push back against the idea that Butina used sex to further her agenda, I would not ignore the Kremlin’s longtime use of those tactics.

Personally, I think we have only just started to learn what there is to learn about Maria Butina though a good start can be found in the Rolling Stone article “Inside the Decade-Long Russian Campaign to Infiltrate the NRA and Help Elect Trump” which you can read by clicking here.

Trump refuses to declare state of emergency for blue state Virginia

Trump has ignored pleas from Virginia’s Democratic governor and its congressional delegation and, to date, has refused to declare a state of emergency for the Democratic-leaning state as Hurricane Florence, a monster storm, takes aim at the mid-Atlantic coast.

Late on Monday night, Trump declared state of emergencies for Republican-friendly North Carolina and South Carolina, even though hurricane forecasts clearly indicate Virginia could suffer catastrophic damage from the historic, Category 4 or 5 hurricane:

I live in Richmond, VA. I almost posted last night that after Puerto Rico I would not trust Trump to send aid anywhere. Extreme flooding and damage is expected in northern VA. I would trust Trump will lie that a huge amount of help was sent and the media lies.

Maybe he’d do it if he received a call from Pat Robertson. Robertson’s ”c”hristian broadcasting network is in Virginia. He also owns a huge mansion located in Virginia Beach. Something else would work, too—if someone on Fox News mentioned Virginia a state-of-emergency declaration because of Hurricane Florence.

Very funny and clever ideas! Maybe Fox and Friends will chat this up in the morning.

“Large and violent Florence is continuing on a beeline toward the East Coast as an “extremely dangerous” Category 4 hurricane.
Catastrophic flooding and destructive winds are becoming very likely in the eastern Carolinas.”

“I don’t want that thing to come in,” Robertson said. “I don’t want it to hurt Regent, I don’t wait it to hurt CBN, I don’t want it to tear up the beautiful campus, I don’t want it to tear these trees down, I don’t want to see any damage, I don’t want a bunch of glass flowing, and I don’t want [damage] all over this area that is counting on us to pray for them.”

Robertson then commanded Florence, in the name of Jesus, to change its path away from land and to spin off into the Atlantic ocean.

“We declare in the name of the Lord that you shall go no farther, you shall do no damage in this area,” he said. “We declare a shield of protection all over Tidewater and we declare a shield of protection over those innocent people in the path of this hurricane. In Jesus’ holy name, be out to sea!”
        FIXED IT!

“On Tuesday, he exaggerated the state of the island’s deteriorating power grid, saying Puerto Ricans “had no electricity before the storm” so that “when the storm hit, that took it out entirely.”
““We’re as ready as anybody has ever been,” Trump said, adding that “unlike Puerto Rico,” the states in the path of Florence “have very strong power companies.”

Expect it to be “tremendously big and tremendously wet,” the president advised.”

Moscow bitterly nicknamed the U.S. “the United Sanctions of America”
“Thanks to the elaborate flourish of Cold War espionage the pair allegedly employed — spraying their target with a rare chemical nerve agent hidden in a fake perfume bottle — Moscow is facing the prospect of yet more economic sanctions.”
    The six options are:

—Block all exports to Russia of goods and technology (except food)

—Block all imports from Russia — including oil, Russia’s top export

—Downgrade or suspend diplomatic relations with Russia

—Oppose all loans to Russia by multilateral lending institutions

—Prohibit U.S. banks from making loans to the Russian government

—Place limits on air service between the U.S. and Russia

““They carried out a weapons-of-mass destruction attack in England,” Malcolm Nance, a longtime intelligence analyst, told VICE News. “The Skripal operation was a big middle finger to to Western intelligence.”

OT President Mike Pence said he’d take a lie detector test “in a heartbeat”

  5. #meToo September 11, 2018 at 6:16 pm

OT?”“I’m happy the #MeToo movement has slowed down a little bit,” Macdonald told THR, after criticizing both the left and the right. “It used to be, ‘One hundred women can’t be lying.’ And then it became, ‘One woman can’t lie.’ And that became, ‘I believe all women.’ And then you’re like, ‘What?’ Macdonald went on to say that society used to be more forgiving, but “now it’s admit wrongdoing and you’re finished. And so the only way to survive is to deny, deny, deny.” “Though he didn’t name anyone who has contemplated suicide, he did mention his friends Barr, who gave Macdonald his start as a writer on the original “Roseanne,” and Louis C.K., a close friend who wrote the foreward for Macdonald’s book, Based on a True Story.

Macdonald said Barr “was just so broken and just crying constantly” after she was fired from ABC for calling former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett an “ape” in a tweet that Macdonald decided to get Louis C.K., who admitted to sexual misconduct with women after a New York Times exposé, to call her.

The two disgraced comedians had a good conversation, according to Macdonald. They gave each other advice that only someone else who had, as he put it, “all their work in their entire life being wiped out in a single day” would understand.

“There are very few people that have gone through what they have, losing everything in a day,” Macdonald said. “Of course, people will go, ‘What about the victims?’ But you know what?
The victims didn’t have to go through that.”
    {The person just has to go through it every day of the year for life…}
