Rick Santorum blames increased racism on Barack Obama. WTF?

Yes, how dare Barack Obama be President while black.

The former Republican senator from Pennsylvania and two-time presidential candidate made the comments during a panel discussion on CNN which included former Obama aide Karine Jean-Pierre.

Jean-Pierre said there was an “uproar” after Obama’s 2008 election as the nation’s first black president.

“And what Donald Trump did is he tapped into it because let’s not forget he started his political career talking about birtherism, being the spokesperson of birtherism,” she said, referring to the debunked conspiracy theory that claimed Obama wasn’t born in the United States.

“He saw something as well and tapped into that, tapped into that racism,” she said.

Santorum disagreed.

“What’s being ignored here is the role that Barack Obama played in all this,” he said. “I mean you just can’t go from well, we elected our first black president to all of a sudden we get Donald Trump. There was something in between those two things.”

Jean-Pierre interrupted to clarify that Obama’s election “tapped into something in this country.”

Santorum replied: “The thing it tapped into was that many, many, many people saw Barack Obama being just that, doing more to exacerbate racism in this country.”

“How?” asked Jean-Pierre. “What did he do?”

“Every time there was a controversy where someone in color was involved, he took the side of, many times, against the police ― he did it over and over and over again,” he said.

So to be clear, according to the frothy one, President Obama fanned the flames of racism by recognizing that it exists in this country and speaking out.

If Santorum really wanted, to be honest, he would admit that Obama fanned the flames of racism, simply by being black.

In fact, President Obama went WAY out of this way to avoid talking too much about racism, to the point that many in the African American community were angry with him for not using his bully pulpit to really address the issue in a more aggressive manner.

Clearly, as we can see ANY mention of racial issues in this country immediately labeled him an antagonist race monger.

But the Republicans can twist themselves up in knots all they want, Donald Trump is THEIR fault, not Barack Obama’s, not the African Americans in this country, and certainly not the people who talked about police shootings and the mistreatment of black folks by members of law enforcement.

At this point, why would anyone on Planet Earth invite Rick Santorum to be part of any panel discussion? He’s been out of an elected job for quite a long time now. The people of Pennsylvania were anxious to be rid of him almost as soon as he got elected. What an idiot and embarrassment to the human race?

Why would ANYONE listen to Palin?
      Freaks of society.

Yes, overt display of racism became more frequent during President Obama’s presidency because la large portion of the population couldn’t accept a black man as president.

Yeah, and the consvertives blame THAT on Obama. If he’d never ran, then some of their constituents wouldn’t have to confront their racism by acknowledging a black president.

That’s ridiculous, but that’s the logic of racists.

So it’s the new wave right? Just say any crazy damned shit and it’s supposed to be taken as true? That’s what Donald did for this country. These tactics we used as children. Making up shit and pushing our little agendas. Worked time and time again when I was a child. My mother had a devil of a time to determine who was telling the truth and in the end she spanked us all. The Republicans and Putin use this tactic time and again. You don’t have to be a social scientist to see that these new political tactics being used in America are used by children.
If anyone wants to win the election now a days, they have to find their inner mean child. That’s why Donald won, and that’s why he’s still in the white house.
