Now things are getting good.

“Did you commit crimes with Mr. Manafort?” asked prosecutor Greg Andres.

“Yes”, Gates replied.

Gates said he conspired with Manafort to falsify tax returns, knowingly failed to report foreign bank accounts and failed to register Manafort as a foreign agent.

In court on Monday, a retired carpenter, a clothier and a high-end landscaper detailed how Manafort paid them in international wire transfers from offshore companies.

Gates testified that he and Manafort had 15 foreign accounts they did not report to the U.S. government, and knew that was illegal.

“Mr. Manafort requested I make wire transfers from the foreign accounts,” Gates said. “At Mr. Manafort’s request … we did not disclose the foreign bank accounts.”

Gates also admitted he embezzled money from his boss — something Manafort’s attorneys have alleged for months.

“I added money to expense reports and created expense reports” that were not accurate, he said, to pad his salary by “several hundred thousand [dollars].”

So not only did Gates and Manafort steal from the government together, and failed to register as foreign agents, but Gates also stole from his partner.

Wow, there really is no honor among thieves.

The article points out that there was no mention of Trump or his campaign, however, it is noted that some of the crimes described took place while Manafort was still running Trump’s campaign.

By the way, if you don’t recognize that all of this is going to lead right to the revelations that Trump also engaged in similar illegal activities you might as well hang up your Sherlock Holmes deerstalker cap right now.

After all, Robert Mueller did not give Gates all of this immunity from his truckload of crimes for shits and giggles.

Definitely going to need to stock up on popcorn.

Obama to receive RFK Human Rights award

Former President Obama has been named a Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope laureate.

The award honors global leaders for “their exceptional work toward a more just and peaceful world.”

Scarborough credits Obama for strong economy: ‘This is not an economy Donald Trump gave us’

Former President Obama deserves more credit for the strong U.S. economy than President Trump, according to MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough.

“Yeah, it’s a strong economy,” Scarborough told “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski. “But Mika, this is not an economy that Donald Trump gave us. This is an economy that’s part of the seven year ongoing recovery.”

Scarborough also said this “isn’t the greatest economy ever” and that it “isn’t close to the greatest economy ever.”

“Barack Obama had more people getting jobs his last 16 or 18 months than they had jobs during Donald Trump’s first 16 or 18 months,” he said.

LeBron James to Create Showtime Doc Series Called Shut Up and Dribble

…Showtime announced Monday that James will — along with his business manager, Maverick Carter — serve as an executive producer of a three-part documentary series called Shut Up and Dribble. The series, to be directed by Gotham Chopra, will (according to a Showtime press release) “look at the changing role of athletes in our fraught cultural and political environment, through the lens of the NBA.”

“If being a star athlete is inherently a political experience, Shut Up and Dribble tells that complex and dramatic story from the past to the present and from the inside out,” said Showtime President David Nevins in the release. “LeBron James is one of many competitors whose place in the spotlight has led not to silence but perspective, and he, Maverick Carter and Gotham Chopra have given us an important, insightful docuseries that should bring their fans and fellow citizens to a higher level of discourse, rather than the dismissal satirized in the title.”

Alex Jones Begs Donald Trump For Help After He’s Dumped By YouTube, Spotify And Facebook
The notorious conspiracy theorist suggests Trump make his media problems a major issue in the 2018 campaign.

Now that Alex Jones has been banned from YouTube, Facebook and iTunes, the right-wing conspiracy theorist is reaching out for help from the president himself.

On Monday, Jones begged Donald Trump to help him get back on the social media platforms with a monologue that alternately praised the president while claiming that the social media ban is part of a globalist conspiracy against him.

At no time did Jones mention the reason the websites gave for permanently removing him: because he violated policies on graphic violence and hate speech.

Instead, Jones blamed globalists and the Chinese. He also suggested that Trump make the ban against him a major campaign issue in 2018, according to this transcript by Media Matters:

″If you come out before the midterms and make the censorship the big issue of them trying to steal the election. And if you make the fact we need an Internet Bill of Rights, and antitrust-busting on these companies, if they don’t back off right now,” Jones said.

The conspiracy-monger insisted his self-serving request was “the right thing to do,” though he said that “it’s crazy to believe it, it’s crazy to understand it.”

After Years Of Alex Jones’ Right-Wing Conspiracy Theories, Why Now?
Many wonder what took tech companies such as Apple, Facebook and YouTube so long to act against Jones and Infowars.

…Many were left wondering why, given how widely discredited Jones and his crew have been, the companies finally acted.

Matt Rivitz, who helps run the Twitter account Sleeping Giants, which pressures companies to distance themselves from far-right groups, expressed the question The New York Times on Monday.

“When they say, ‘We’ve determined he violated the terms,’ the timing is very puzzling because he’s been saying this stuff for years and they haven’t done anything,” Rivitz said.

Others chimed in on Twitter with similar comments.

Gotta love how Gates screwed Manafort out of $200,000 in over charging expenses.

  8. Anonymous August 7, 2018 at 5:53 am

Gates not only was stealing from his boss, he also worked for the trump campaign and transition team. You can’t tell me he wasn’t using his “knowledge” of shady deals and money laundering to help the campaign. He has immunity so let’s see where this goes beyond Manafort.

“The central matter in all of Ross’ legal issues is his own credibility. “Lying on an ethics disclosure form, to Congressional and Senate committees, and falsely reporting compliance with an ethics plan, is neither ‘commonplace’ nor part of the accepted rough-and-tumble world of politics,” David Storper, Ross’ former right-hand man, argued in a court filing. “They are just lies.” Adds another onetime colleague: “This is a public servant who can’t tell the truth.” “
