This is gonna hurt.

Courtesy of The Hill:

A majority of Russians say they have a negative view of President Trump, according to a new poll from state pollster Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM).

The poll, conducted earlier this week, found that 71 percent of respondents had an unfavorable view of Trump, compared to 10 percent who had a favorable view. Nearly 20 percent of respondents said they had no opinion.

A large majority of respondents, 77 percent, said specifically that they view Trump as “self-centered” and just 16 percent said they think the U.S. president is “trustworthy.”

A majority also described Trump as “dangerous.”

Let’s face it, this is Trump’s real constituency.

After all, he does not work for America, he clearly works for Russia.

Still perhaps it really only matters what ONE Russian thinks of Donald Trump.

G, the Russian people didn’t want Trump, their current leader Putin did. Trump fulfills his master plan of rebuilding the old Soviet Union. He controls most of the wealth and how it is spent. Putin needed a puppet to make Russia friendly to the US. What got Trump elected were white Christian Americans both young and old who couldn’t deal with expanded GLBT rights including marriage. The country’s racists latched on because they saw the door open. Remember “Take Our Country back” slogan?

The Russian People must fight to clean up their polluted country. They have been bamboozled by crooks for so many years. They don’t like putin anymore than trump. They must fight, vote and demand that their country be free from dicktaters and wealthy crooks suppressing them. Alaska ya better protect yourself, putin wants your state.

I’m wondering if that’s not a fake poll to make it seem as if Trump is less a Putin lackey than we know him to be. Russians are not very subtle in their propaganda tricks and I become very suspicious of reports like this. I’m sure Russians would never release poll results showing that Putin is unpopular even though I suspect he is.

Good point. Nothing gets published in Russia without Putin’s approval and, when it somehow happens, there are consequences for those who defy Putin.

Princes Charles and William refused to meet Trump: report

Prince Charles and Prince William refused to meet with President Trump on his visit to the United Kingdom, according to London newspaper The Sunday Times.

A source familiar with the planning for the president and first lady Melania Trump’s meeting with the queen told the Times that Charles and William made it clear that they did not want to participate.

“This business of Prince Charles and Prince William not being there for the Trump visit was a snub,” the source told the paper. “They simply refused to attend. It’s a very, very unusual thing for the queen to be there on her own. Usually she is accompanied by somebody. Prince Charles has been substituting for Philip a lot recently.”

    • Anonymous July 15, 2018 at 6:09 am

“Prince Charles and Prince William were unwilling to meet Donald Trump on his visit to Britain, leaving the Queen to greet the US president alone.

The first two in line to the throne let it be known during informal discussions about the arrangements for the president’s four-day trip that they did not want to take part.

Downing Street and Buckingham Palace said Trump’s tour was not a state visit and that the only plan drawn up involved the Queen greeting the president and his wife Melania alone. However,”…

“the two princes avoidance of Trump’ “was a snub,” with a source saying they “simply refused to attend.”
“rump’s visit with the Queen was “kept to a bare minimum,” and that other members of the royal family “were not as enthusiastic as they were when Obama came over.””

      • Beaglemom July 15, 2018 at 10:54 am

Good for both Prince Charles and Prince William. I suspect that Queen Elizabeth was not thrilled with having to meet, however briefly, with Don the Con and the third wife. Queen Elizabeth is obliged by constitutional rule to do what the government in power wants her to do.

Vladimir Putin Has Trump Right Where He Wants Him
The Russian leader will likely pledge progress on issues like Syria at their Helsinki summit. But officials from U.S.-allied countries say Trump should be skeptical.

…But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for the Russians to gain. The Russian vision for Monday’s meeting, which includes a one-on-one session with no aides present and no formal record of the conversation, features Putin as big burly truth-teller and Trump as overawed listener dissatisfied with the U.S.-dominated global status quo.

“The optics of it are great validation for Vladimir Putin as he starts a fourth term … [and] Putin is a master troll who will use the meeting to troll the hell out of the United States and the U.S. media and the U.S. establishment,” Kofman said.

Putin is also likely to exploit Trump’s decades-old sympathy for the Russian worldview, one that’s skeptical of traditional American allies and the men and women working for the U.S. government. And he’ll aim to capitalize on Trump’s conviction that America’s fraught relationship with Russia is the fault of past U.S. leaders rather than Putin’s own belligerent actions.

All the courting and cajoling could result in instant gratification, like Trump saying something directly undermining the U.S.-constructed world order ― for instance, on the Russian invasion of Ukraine or the NATO security alliance ― that would send American officials into a tizzy.

Trumpism Is Thriving In Sweden By Carefully Ignoring Donald Trump

…The Sweden Democrats, a party long defined by opposition to immigration, is expected to secure its best election result ever when the country goes to the polls in September. It hopes to become the king-maker for a likely future coalition government and party members have even suggested it could become the largest party in the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament. Unlike its hardline anti-immigrant counterparts in neighboring countries, however, the party is shooting for success by maintaining a careful distance from the more polarizing elements of the movement.

Across Europe, which Trump is touring this week, foreigner-bashing nationalists are riding the greatest ascendancy of their ideas in decades. Some have sought advice directly from Trump associates like former White House adviser Steve Bannon and U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell.

But in historically liberal Sweden, the destination over the last several years of more asylum-seekers per capita than any other European Union nation, Trump is disliked by the vast majority of the people. His direct (and false) attack on the country in February 2017 didn’t help. So his would-be ideological partners have adapted, tightly controlling their message and those who represent it.

In the process, the Sweden Democrats may be writing the playbook for anti-migrant politicians hoping to thrive long beyond the Trump moment, by reshaping their country’s politics to embrace Trumpian logic without unhelpful references to the man himself.

Mueller’s Latest Indictments Show That ‘Witches’ Are Very Real

…It’s now becoming increasingly clear why intelligence agencies believe that Russians were trying to help Trump and hurt Clinton — the scale of the attack on the Clinton campaign, the DCCC, and the DNC was troubling. And while there are past reports that the Russians attempted to hack Republicans, this indictment outlines a comprehensive and sustained effort against the Democrats and is silent about a similar conspiracy aimed at Republicans. Perhaps more information will emerge, but the available public evidence at this point bolsters the intelligence agencies’ unanimous conclusion that Russia tried to help Trump.

…As Mueller reveals more facts about Russian interference and indicts more individuals for troubling crimes uncovered as part of his entirely legitimate investigation, it’s time for the GOP to tell the president that the hunt needs to continue, because the witches are very real.

Watch CNN’s Anderson Cooper hilariously rake Trump over the coals for living in a ‘witch hunt’ fantasy world

…“Again, just to be clear, that ‘witch hunt,’ as the president called it, has now yielded 191 charges against 32 individuals and three companies,” Cooper said. “And the president knew about it. Certainly hasn’t stopped him from talking or tweeting about the search for women wearing pointy hats, riding broom sticks. By our count, the president has tweeted 84 times using the term ‘witch-hunt’ to describe the Russia probe.”

      Watch below.

Gowdy: I don’t think Mueller probe is a witch hunt

Retiring Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said Sunday he doesn’t believe special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling is a “witch hunt,” despite President Trump’s repeated claims that it is.

“I don’t think it’s a witch hunt. I’ve never thought it was a witch hunt,” Gowdy said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“Russia attacked this country in 2016. That’s the number one thing we’ve asked Mueller to look at,” he added.

“All are looking in one direction, while Trump is looking in the total opposite direction to them, seemingly grimacing and baring his teeth skyward.”
“”He’s not looking in the same direction. And so whatever the cause, he’s not unified with the rest of the people.” Trump is, in fact, the odd leader out.”
“While the picture may look like a ‘spot the odd one out’ interactive game, it’s blindingly obvious that odd one is Trump – the reality television star turned President of the United States – whom is often found to be acting decidedly un-presidential.”
“When observing president Trump’s body language, my first initial reaction is one of a man who simply lives in his own world. Other people’s opinions do not affect or matter to him.
He is facing the opposite direction than everyone else while twisting his upper body. This indicates that he will always follow the beat of his own drum and he likes things to be his way.”

Trump is trolling NATO into destroying itself — and opening the door for Putin’s domination of Europe

…In this and other ways, I suspect that Trump is once again luring his enemies into the political equivalent of a Heffalump trap — that is, a trap constructed to catch him, but in which we trap ourselves — as he did repeatedly during the 2016 presidential campaign. He is just smart enough to understand that he has no actual policies or ideology, and cannot survive any contest fought on that ground. But he might be able to win a second term and destroy democracy and become chicken-emperor for life and all the rest of it if he can persuade his enemies to sabotage themselves.

Margaret Brennan>”“A point here that seems to be getting lost or at least when the president is speaking, he’s conflating these specific individuals… with the entire intelligence organization that is the FBI, and there is some concern that that is corrosive to our democracy,”
“GOwDy replied. “That’s why I don’t like to do them. I don’t do many of them. I mean, it’s a freak show. The private interviews are much more constructive.”

“But I would also say this,” he added. “Put yourself in President Trump’s shoes for just a second. Jim Comey thought that impeachment was too good for you. John Brennan says you should be in the dustbin of history. Those are not insignificant people. One headed the FBI. The other headed the CIA when you were under investigation.”

“Margaret, if you were being investigated by people with that level of bias and animus against you, I think you would be concerned, as well,” “

I’m so gd sick and tired of Trump bitching about unfair trade with other countries and The EU! Americans are to blame because we buy things from outside the country that are higher quality or status symbols than mare in the US and cheap crap because we have two financial groups in the US, rich and poor. Grow a middle class and watch trade deficits decrease. Trump quickly forgets he contributes himself to out trade problems. Buying Chinese steel and glass for his buildings may lock good for him but does not produce jmanufacturing jobs here, just his hypocrisy.
