The National Rifle Association (NRA), the most powerful gun lobby in the country, is under fire from doctors for a Tweet that many are calling insensitive and ill-reasoned.

On Wednesday, just hours before a gunman stormed into a bar in California and killed 12 people, the NRA went after the American College of Physicians on Twitter for writing about policies that could reduce the number of deaths and injuries from firearms.

On Wednesday, just hours before a gunman stormed into a bar in California and killed 12 people, the NRA went after the American College of Physicians on Twitter for writing about policies that could reduce the number of deaths and injuries from firearms.

When the medical community saw that tweet they were quick to respond:

I cannot even fathom how disconnected from reality you have to be to start a fight with doctors over gun violence, but clearly, the folks working the NRA’s Twitter account are that disconnected from reality.

I myself have seen the body of a child that suffered gun violence, and I am here to tell you that it changes you in a fundamental way.

I cannot even imagine how traumatic it must be to see it on a daily basis, but I do know that if somebody who did see it offered their opinion on guns I would listen.

To put this into perspective, we are 312 days into the year, meaning the US has had nearly as many mass shootings as days in 2018.

Americans are more likely to die from gun violence than many leading causes of death combined – In 2013, a report from the Congressional Research Service, known as Congress’ think tank, described mass shootings as those in which shooters “select victims somewhat indiscriminately” and involve four or more deaths — a higher bar than the Gun Violence Archive’s, as it doesn’t take injuries into account.
Earlier in 2013, a federal mandate identified the threshold as three or more deaths.

*data from the Gun Violence Archive, more than 12,000 people have died from gun-related violence in the US so far this year, and more than
    24,000 others have been injured.> THE NUMBER$.

“Tara Dowdell got right to the point>
“What is his weird thing with black women? I mean, other than Diamond and Silk, he doesn’t seem to like them very much.”
“I think there are two things going on with Donald Trump and black women,”
“Number one is that black women have overwhelmingly been the one group that refuses to bow down to Donald Trump. We have been on the forefront of the resistance. we are also not just on the forefront of the resistance, but we are actually behind the defeat of a lot of his candidates.”

“The second thing is, Trump knows what racial buttons to push,” she elaborated. “He always has from the Central Park Five. His attacks are specific — talking about black women are stupid, low IQ, those are very specific attacks that have a historical context, and so I think, number one, Trump knows black women voters are not stupid because we are the one group that has not fallen for his con in any kind of significant way. overwhelmingly we haven’t fallen for his con.”

As disrespectful as it might be to the dead or victims they should make those morons from the NRA look at photos or actual bodies, make them look at the carnage and blood.

Wanna bet those wimps would faint or vomit.

Sure hope the investigation into their dirty money proves it is coming from russia.

The violent bitch that shot (but did not kill) George Tiller in 1993 and fire-bombed clinics was released from prison. Pro choice activists still consider Rachelle “Shelly” Shannon a credible threat and are implementing precautions and stepping up security.

Let me think a minute, people don’t cause violence, guns do. Guns run around calling names and threatening to kill other guns and it is the poor misunderstood ammosexuals the guns belong to that get the blame.? Am I reading this right? Either way, and guns can and do go off by themselves, (get Remington arms drunk enough some night and they might admit the truth they have known since the late 1940’s) doctors are on the receiving end of the NRA’s wrath and the wrath of gun shot victims of all sizes, shapes and colors.
