Mueller will allow Trump to answer some questions in written form if he will agree to interview.

Of course, written answers will be supplied by an attorney, not Trump.

Courtesy of NYT:

President Trump pushed his lawyers in recent days to try once again to reach an agreement with the special counsel’s office about him sitting for an interview, flouting their advice that he should not answer investigators’ questions, three people briefed on the matter said on Wednesday.

Mr. Trump has told advisers he is eager to meet with investigators to clear himself of wrongdoing, the people said. In effect, he believes he can convince the investigators for the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, of his belief that their own inquiry is a “witch hunt.”

Mr. Mueller, whose team has negotiated the parameters of an interview with Mr. Trump’s lawyers for eight months, sent his latest proposal in a letter Tuesday night, the three people said. Investigators stood firm on the scope of and topics for their questions for Mr. Trump: possible coordination between his associates and Russia’s election interference and whether he tried to obstruct the investigation.

They did shift slightly on format, agreeing to accept some written answers, including matters in which they want to preserve the ability to have Mr. Trump answer follow-ups in person. In doing so, they firmed up a previously expressed willingness to allow certain answers in writing.

The president’s lawyers are unwilling to concede to follow-ups in person, citing concerns that Mr. Trump will increase his legal exposure, the people said. They have been prepared to tell Mr. Mueller’s office there will be no interview, risking a court fight over a subpoena that could drag into November’s midterm elections, but Mr. Trump pushed them to continue negotiating. The lawyers are likely to counter Mr. Mueller’s proposal in the coming days, according to the three people.

I love the fact that Trump is so arrogant that he believes that he could convince Mueller and his team, that despite all of the evidence they have seen, that their investigation is a “witch hunt.”

And it is exactly that arrogance which his lawyers fear will be his undoing if the investigators get the chance to ask in person follow up questions to the lawyer produced written answers.

And of course, they are correct.

Personally, I think that after all of this build up and suspense that the public deserves to witness the Perry Mason moment when Mueller catches him in a bold faced lie and produces the evidence that completely discredits him and proves that he is a tool of the Kremlin.

After all, since Trump is essentially a performance artist, I think he owes his audience the grand finale.

““While watching the [Lester Holt] interview I realized that something real and serious was going on in Donald’s brain. His mental decline could not be denied,” Omarosa writes. “Many didn’t notice it as keenly as I did because I knew him way back when. They thought Trump was being Trump, off the cuff […] But I knew something wasn’t right.”

“Donald rambled. He spoke gibberish. He contradicted himself from one sentence to the next,” “

Any questions Don the Con answers in written form will be written by his attorneys, in the same way that hirelings wrote his college essays. Mueller better be prepared to have syntax, spelling and content experts on hand to read whatever Don the Con “writes” for himself.

Trump does not listen to his handlers. Why the heck doesn’t he just go on over to muellers office and sit down for that interview and get it over with. He is a big boy and can do as he wants. Say as he wants. He does not need approval from the NRA, RNC, GOP, WH, FOX nor melanie. Just do it trump, go for it. Trump could be home for Christmas!!! Ny is beautiful at Christmas time.

“Emin Agalarov, the Russian pop star who helped arrange the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian officials, is now in the crosshairs of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.

NBC News reports that Mueller’s office has requested an interview with Agalarov, who last year emerged as a key figure in possible efforts by the Russian government to coordinate with Trump’s campaign.”<rawstory

He won’t have time to memorize his attorneys answers to the written questions, talk about a set up for perjury 🙂

Also Mueller will be able to compare his tweets to the written answers and if they are in correct English with legalize thrown in, he will know that little donnie didn’t take the time to do his homework.

All Mueller has to do is ask him if he wrote the answers. If he lies and say yes, a few questions will prove he perjured himself. If he says no, that probably violates a directive that he himself answer the written questions. That would be contempt.

Personally, I’m not sure Trump has the literacy skills to read and understand the questions.

who will write his answers for him? he sure won’t be doing it.

I hope someone tells trump, Pres.Obama would NEVER answer questions from Mueller.
Littke donnie would camp out at Mueller’s office to show that Obama guy who answers better.

That won’t help him at all. In fact it will more easily lead to perjury. Trump won’t have a clue what they wrote. He won’t read their responses or study anything. He’s essentially illiterate and has the attention span and retention of a gnat. He’ll contradict his written testimony, then just dig himself a deeper hole. They’ll get him on perjury, then obstruction, then whatever.
