MSNBC’s Katy Tur tells her viewers not to stay in their safe spaces.

“Public service announcement, we are not your safe space. We are a news organization, we bring you the news. News comes from both sides. Opinions, even if you hate them, come from both sides. Yes, a journalist’s job is to find facts, but it is also our job to shed a light on what is happening in the country, what is happening in our communities. Shed a light on what people are saying and thinking, what motivates them even if you disagree with them. The news should make you uncomfortable if everything you read or watch give you comfort you’re doing it wrong.”

I thought that was very well said.

I’m not going to lie, the first part of this segment with the Trump supporters saying that they simply do not believe facts as reported by the media, made me cringe hard.

And the gentleman who suggested that Tucker Carlson was the most trusted cable news host made me die a little inside.

By the way, can you imagine anybody on Fox News suggesting that you avoid safe spaces and look for information from a variety of news sources?  Yeah, not going to happen.

Katy Tur has rapidly become one of my favorite hosts over at MSNBC. She is smart, well informed, and brings a sense of joy to her job which in the age of Donald Trump is really quite an achievement.

    In the last hour…
FB>”To all of you working tirelessly for a more just and empathetic America… To you who are comforting the frightened, protecting the marginalized, and serving in causes greater than your own…. My country, ’tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing.”

Tuesday 6th – america votes. House flips. Senate flips.

Wednesday 7th – 25th invoked & all trumps removed, made to hitch hike to where they came from. And everyone that was hired by them. Kellyanne given a tent to sleep in (on layaway) as the door hits her in the ass on the way out.

Thurs 8th – Mueller finds Russia altered election results, trump retroactively declared the loser, Hillary sworn in retroactively.

Fri 9th – Hillary retroactively annuls all executive activity since 01/20/17.

Sat 10th, and going forward – whole world rejoices in peace, all guns destroyed globally, song and cheer unite entire planet, all religions retire their literalism and righteousness, every human being goes to bed on a full stomach, population levels, industry sliced by 90%, earth heals due to humans being in accord with it rather than trying to commandeer it.

That is a lovely fantasy with no basis in reality. To just point out one weakness, the new Congress won’t be sworn in until January. Another: there will be runoffs and I am sure recounts. Oh, and there are no do-overs. In no legal scenario does Hillary become president.

      Is that enough?

lol. Try a little reality there lipi. You really have no comprehension of how the Government works, nor how the procedures set forth in the Constitution insure that it works properly, for the stability of the Country.

At best the Democrats may win a slight majority in one chamber of Congress, May. And that would basically give Nancy Pelosi the Gavel and that is about it.

Hillary will never ever be ‘appointed’ the Presidency. If any such attempt were ever made, be it Hillary or someone else, which will never happen (other than hypothetically in confused brains such as yours), it would trigger tremendous civil unrest and likely civil war.

Polls start opening in just over 5 hrs.

Load up the van and get to the booth for Christ’s sake.

It is pouring rain outside right now. Pouring. Raining like it has not rained here (Traverse City, Michigan) in months. i sure hope that, in two hours, when the polls are open, that people go and vote the Republicans out of office. I hope they do that for lots of reasons but also because of this morning’s Washington Post headline of Don the Con and Sessions warning of extensive voter fraud* and potential violence in the aftermath. Why would the president and the attorney general make threats like that on the eve of Election Day? What do they think of the American people? It’s only 6:21 am now and I’m already distressed . . . .

    * This country does not have a problem with “voter fraud” but we do have a problem with “election fraud” and, thus far, the Republicans have been the ones responsible for it.

Well, to be fay, there have been a few incidents of voter fraud… BY REPUBLICANS.
