Michael Cohen claims that Trump knew about son’s meeting with Russians in Trump Tower before it took place.

Really the most transparent lie ever if you think about it.

Courtesy of CNN:

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, claims that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton, sources with knowledge tell CNN. Cohen is willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller, the sources said.

Cohen’s claim would contradict repeated denials by Trump, Donald Trump Jr., their lawyers and other administration officials who have said that the President knew nothing about the Trump Tower meeting until he was approached about it by The New York Times in July 2017.

Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians’ offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen’s account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.

According to these sources, which most people believe is most likely Rudy Giuliani or a member of the Trump legal team, Cohen does not have any actual proof concerning this, but that he is willing to testify to Mueller that it is a fact.

If there is evidence to back this up, or other witnesses to corroborate it, that would prove that Trump has been lying about this for two years and that his son perjured himself in front of Congress when asked about it directly.

Personally, I have ALWAYS assumed that Trump knew about this meeting beforehand, and was also on the other end of the blocked phone number that Junior called both before and after the meeting with the Russians.

Remember that Trump talked about new information coming out about Hillary on the day of the meeting.

Like I said, it was a given that he knew, but PROOF that he knew and then lied about it, and had everybody else lie about it, could still bite him on his chubby orange ass.

Of course, Trump has already come out and denied the truthfulness of Cohen’s allegation.

Well, it appears that Cohen has now been completely thrown under the bus.

I can only imagine what else he knows and is now more than ready to share with Mueller investigators.

    OT? Trump Turpitude Tower:
“Questions surrounding Alfa Bank first arose in 2016 when a group of computer scientists raised concerns about Internet records that showed that Alfa Bank servers repeatedly looked up the unique internet address of a Trump Organization computer server in the United States. Authorities never alleged any wrongdoing, and Alfa Bank denied any misconduct.”
“”I would be recused from any matter involving Alfa Bank for the first two years of my tenure in the department if I’m fortunate enough to be confirmed,” Benczkowski said.
“With respect to this particular matter, this investigation that we conducted for Alfa Bank, if the subject matter of that investigation in some way comes before me in the criminal division at any point in my tenure I want to be clear, I will recuse from that completely.””OK?!

Russia’s Putin tells Trump: ‘Be my guest in Moscow’

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday he had invited Donald Trump to Moscow and that both he and the U.S. president want further summits, despite the uproar in Washington after the two leaders met in Helsinki last week.

Following the backlash in the United States over Trump’s cordial public tone with Putin at the Helsinki summit, U.S. and Russian officials backed away from a proposal to schedule a follow-up summit in Washington.

But speaking to reporters in South Africa, where he was attending a summit of BRICS nations, Putin said another meeting with Trump was still on the agenda.

“Regarding our meetings, I understand very well what President Trump said. He has a desire to have further meetings,” Putin said.

“I am ready for that. We need for the appropriate conditions to exist, to be created, including in our countries,” Putin told a news conference.

“We are ready for such meetings. We are ready to invite President Trump to Moscow. Be my guest. He has such an invitation, I told him that.”

Feud Escalates As Trump Calls Cohen a Liar Who Makes Up Stories

After CNN broke the story yesterday, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin made clear that Cohen’s testimony about the president’s advance knowledge of the Trump Tower meeting changes everything, saying:

“If Cohen is telling the truth about this it completely changes our understanding of what Donald Trump’s role was. This meeting in Trump Tower is the clearest example we have so far of a direct connection between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.”

“Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians’ offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen’s account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.

To be clear, these sources said Cohen does not have evidence, such as audio recordings, to corroborate his claim, but he is willing to attest to his account.”

MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch: Trump’s accountant getting roped into Mueller probe ‘is even scarier than Michael Cohen’

Donny Deutsch said President Donald Trump should be terrified that his longtime finance chief has been roped into the Russia probe.

The name of Trump Organization chief financial officer Alan Weiselberg came up in recordings made by former Trump Organization attorney Michael Cohen, and the “Morning Joe” contributor said that was a big deal for the president.

“Everybody’s talking about Cohen being a John Dean, I think this is your John Dean,” Deutsch said. “Wherever it starts — if a CFO is complicit, they’re as guilty as the person doing it. So whatever he’s called in for, at the end of the day, if he’s in any kind of trouble, what else does he have? He has everything.”

Deutsch ran an advertising agency for years, and he said his own accountants knew every aspect of the business.

“I ran a company for many, many years,” Deutsch said, “and a CFO, everything you do, he executes — every dollar in, dollar out, every business (decision).”

“If Donald Trump ever did anything dishonest — and I’m not accusing him — Weiselberg was the financial executor of that,” he added. “When I read that yesterday, I was like, whoa, you know, Rome is really burning, and to say that Donald Trump is not happy about that, I think to him this is even scarier than Michael Cohen.”

‘This is the presidency’: Conservative Jennifer Rubin says new Cohen revelations demonstrate collusion and make Trump’s ‘entire presidency illegitimate’

…“This is collusion,” she said. “This is a fraud on the American people. This is a fraud on the election. It makes his entire presidency, in my mind, illegitimate. This is the thing that he’s been worried about all along. He’s been afraid that Democrats are trying to discredit his administration, his presidency. And guess what? They’re right. Because if he did this, he got elected with the help of a hostile foreign power.”

Rubin said that Trump’s panic after Cohen’s offices were raided “is now very explainable.”

Trump’s claims about a “witch hunt” now appear absurd, she suggested.

“Well, the witches are in packs and droves now. They’re popping up out of every corner. And, if this is correct—and we have to have that caveat again and again and again, we do not know if Michael Cohen really is going to say this and they’re really corroborating witnesses—but if there were, this is it. This is the presidency.”

Paul Ryan is helping Trump undermine the rule of law
He’s actively protecting the president, not just ignoring him.

…The problem is that Ryan’s prepared image is a lie. He has failed to take modest, reasonable steps to protect the Mueller investigation and hold the Trump administration to account. Even worse, he’s actively empowering forces in the House — most prominently Rep. Devin Nunes (CA) — who are conspiring to disrupt the investigation and protect Trump.

The clear goal is to delegitimize the Mueller investigation, to ensure that its conclusions are perceived as mere partisan propaganda rather than fact-finding by reputable investigators. That will enable Republicans in Congress to ignore any wrongdoing Mueller discovers, no matter how egregious, and ensure that efforts to impeach or remove Trump or any of his aides will fail.

It’s some of the most valuable work being done to protect Trump in all of Washington, and Ryan is right at the center of it.

“Mitchell asked former Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York Mimi Rocah.

“Andrea, it’s incredibly significant,” Rocah answered. “I mean, this is huge.”

“If the government can prove that Donald Trump knew about the meeting with the Russians ahead of time — knew at least generally the purpose of the meeting — and gave it the go-ahead, he is smack dab in the middle of a conspiracy to defraud the United States by the process of fair elections with the Russians,” the MSNBC legal analyst explained.

“What the government needs is a witness, a witness is evidence,” Rocah continued. “And the way that Michael Cohen becomes a witness is to become a signed-up cooperator with the government.”

“No one should underestimate how big this is, if it’s true, in terms of putting Trump in the middle of a criminal conspiracy,” ”

Trump Has Changed His Mind A Lot On What He Knew About The Trump Tower Meeting
The president’s claims about his knowledge and involvement in his son’s controversial meeting have constantly evolved.

Though Trump has repeatedly sought to distance him from the problematic meeting, his and his team’s statements on what he knew have morphed considerably over time. The discrepancies have drawn increased attention as special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 campaign heats up.

Here’s how the president’s claims have evolved over the past year.

    • anon July 27, 2018 at 10:56 am

“Trump himself signed off on his son’s initial statement on the meeting. Trump personal lawyer Jay Sekulow, however, repeatedly denied that the president was involved at all.

He was involved in drafting the statement but didn’t personally dictate it” “That’s not a statement to a high tribunal of judges,” Trump said two weeks after the letter was made public. “That’s a statement to the phony New York Times.”

    “bury” Cohen
On Thursday evening that next shoe dropped, only it wasn’t in the form of an audio recording. CNN (again) reported that Cohen was willing to attest that Trump had lied when he claimed he had no prior knowledge of the infamous campaign meeting his eldest son helped organized with Russians at Trump Tower.”
“rump has declined to write “Michael” or “Cohen,” as he has in other tweets about him this year. The slight is not by accident, according to multiple people who have known Trump for years. The president, they say, will often stop using people’s names if he’s convinced they’re turncoats, or if he suddenly finds them big enough “losers” not worth the attention. rump continued using this tactic, referring to his former loyalist as “he,” “him,” and “someone.”

““When you’ve got truth on your side, you’re not afraid of anything,” “So what are they afraid of?”
“It’s been a staggering reversal for someone who had said as recently as April that he’d “rather jump out of a building than turn on Donald Trump.” At the time, a senior White House official joked, “How tall is the building?”

“rump also vented his frustration that there are apparently other tapes out there, and that he doesn’t know exactly what could be on them, or when they’ll drop in the press.” ““One doesn’t have to speculate too hard to think that some of Michael Cohen’s other clients are going to be very, very angry when they find out they’re possibly on tape,” said a source familiar with his track record.”

lol, the liar-in-chief seems to have his tighty-whitey’s in a knot over this revelation! How sweet it is! Suck it up motherf*cker and be a man you orange blimp.

How Silicon Valley Became a Den of Spies
The West Coast is a growing target of foreign espionage. And it’s not ready to fight back.

…We tend to think of espionage in the United States as an East Coast phenomenon: shadowy foreign spies working out of embassies in Washington, or at missions to the United Nations in New York; dead drops in suburban Virginia woodlands, and surreptitious meetings on park benches in Manhattan’s gray dusk.

But foreign spies have been showing up uninvited, to San Francisco and Silicon Valley for a very long time. According to former U.S. intelligence officials, that’s true today more than ever. In fact, they warn—especially because of increasing Russian and Chinese aggressiveness, and the local concentration of world-leading science and technology firms—there’s a full-on epidemic of espionage on the West Coast right now. And even more worrisome, many of its targets are unprepared to deal with the growing threat.

WATCH: Rudy Giuliani goes on rant about ‘lying’ Michael Cohen after CNN’s Cuomo confronts him with Trump Tower bombshell

In the interview, Giuliani attacked Cohen who he said had been “fooling people” and “lying to their face.” He said Cohen’s actions were a “disbursable offense.”

“I expected something like this from Cohen—he’s been lying all week, he’s been lying for years,” Giuliani said. “I don’t see how he has any credibility.”

Giuliani’s point seemed to be that Cohen was a liar—he referenced a coming “credibility contest” and said that he could destroy Mueller’s case.

As Giuliani was appearing on CNN, on MSNBC host Rachel Maddow got a statement from Michael Cohen’s attorney Lanny Davis in which Davis denied that Cohen’s camp was the source of the report.

    Watch below.

“@RudyGiuliani I saw your interview last night with @ChrisCuomo. Thank you! You are the best lawyer we have working for us on our team (and for free). Keep up the great work. Please don’t stop making public statements,” he wrote.

Trump happy with 4% GDP and bullshits he can get it to 8 or 9. I think the old man is misconstruing GDP and his erection time. Four minutes seems too long for him

  17. Anonymous July 27, 2018 at 2:09 pm

This sounds good and could possibly be the smoking gun Mueller needs. But this is Michael Cohen we’re dealing with. I don’t trust his motives and I don’t think he deserves immunity. I’d support a reduction in charges for him if he gave up Trump or one of his crooked kids.

Cohen’s definitely acting within his own interest here. I wonder if he’s trying to get Trump’s attention so that he will pardon Cohen if Cohen calls the dogs off. Trump CAN pardon him even before he’s been charged.

Too bad little donnie tweeted” I did NOT know of the meeting” instead of” I didn’t know of the meeting” because he can’t use the “didn’t know”, “did know” excuse this time.

Of course he knew about the meeting, donnie jr probable doesn’t go to the bathroom without asking daddies permission and they want us to believe he is going to set up a meeting with russians to get stuff on Hillary without daddy knowing about it.

    Yea right and pigs fly!!!

  19. Anonymous August 5, 2018 at 12:41 am

Of course he did. They had a strategy meeting prior to the meeting with the Russians. Trump is a micromanaging control freak. Nothing happens without his knowledge and approval.

He’s sweating bullets now, not because Jr might be indicted and convicted but because what Jr knows and will say to expose Trump’s crimes.
