A majority of U.S. voters say President Trump has emboldened racists to express their beliefs openly, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
Fifty-five percent of voters said Trump has made it easier for those with racist beliefs to share those views publicly. Thirty-nine percent disagreed.
The Quinnipiac poll took the country’s pulse on issues such as civility, immigration, and President Trump’s character.
Forty-nine percent of voters polled also said Trump is racist while 47 said he is not.
Many Trump critics have attributed the rise in white nationalist voices in public to Trump’s rhetoric on immigration.
The NAACP last week blamed the rising number of hate crimes in the U.S. to Trump’s language and policies.
I feel that this is where I should just write, “No shit Sherlock.”
The fact that we have seen an uptick in attacks on minorities and racist hate speech on the internet, is certainly not a coincidence.
Donald Trump has been a racist his entire life, so of course, if he wins the White House is fellow racists will be emboldened to come pouring out of the woodwork.
And that is exactly what they are doing.
And trust me Trump’s attacks on the EU, his barbaric immigration policies, and his puppy love for Vladimir Putin only serves to increase the love white supremacists have for him.
No, we need to energize the Democratic base and bring in more Hispanics, Asians, women, and black Americans because for many white folks, especially those in the South, this whole thing is going precisely according to plan.
