Justin Trudeau says that on July 1st Canada will answer the new Trump Administration tariffs with retaliatory measures.

Courtesy of CNN:

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Saturday that he would with “absolute certainty” impose retaliatory measures on July 1 to answer Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum. He said the argument that Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum are a matter of national security are “kind of insulting.” Trudeau said Canadians are nice but said, “We will not be pushed around.”

“I will always protect Canadian workers and Canadian interests,” Trudeau said.

Trump responded to that with this statement courtesy of CNN:

“Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!,” the President tweeted on Saturday.

In a second tweet, President Trump said, “PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, ‘US Tariffs were kind of insulting’ and he ‘will not be pushed around.’ Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!”

And thus begins the trade war with Canada, one of our oldest and most trusted allies.

By the way, if this picture up above is any indication, I think America’s relationships with our G7 allies could not be much worse.

But good news kids, the overthrow of our country by Russia is right on schedule.

The next time that somebody tells you that elections have consequences you damn well better listen.

“When a society has a leader who claims to not just be above the law — but to be the law” “there is no point to voting, representation, or legislation.”
“the point of a concentration camp — to create a black hole that is impossible for anyone to see into, for press, intellectuals, citizens, or even leaders.”

” It is a form of intimidation. Meant to create a society governed by fear, anxiety, impotence, the expectation of powerlessness — not one governed by law, order, and a democratic distribution of power.”

“In the whole twenty two years of Tiberius’ reign, not more than fifty-two persons were accused of treason, of whom almost half escaped conviction, while the four innocent people to be condemned fell victims to the excessive zeal of the Senate, not to the Emperor’s tyranny.

While Tiberius was in Capri, rumours abounded as to what exactly he was doing there. Suetonius records the rumours of lurid tales of sexual perversity, including graphic depictions of child molestation, and cruelty, and most of all his paranoia.”
“The Gospels mention that during Tiberius’ reign, Jesus of Nazareth preached and was executed under the authority of Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judaea province.”

““Is that really how we want to deal with our second-biggest trading partner?” Wallace wondered.

Navarro appeared slightly enraged about Trudeau’s remarks.

“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump,” “And then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door. And that’s what bad faith Justin Trudeau did at that stunt press conference.”

“That’s what weak dishonest Justin Trudeau did,” “To my friends in Canada, that was one of the worst political miscalculations of a Canadian leader in modern Canadian history.””

“The tariffs and subsidies that Trump says other countries have imposed on the U.S. don’t play a primary role in setting the trade balance, so imposing tariffs on the U.S. side will lead to chaos rather than rebalancing.”

In summary, Trump is creating chaos and American businesses should be terrified. Paul Krugman is the Nobel Prize-winning economist who posted his concerns on Twitter after Trump’s G7 speech:

“Really, really bad. Trump is throwing a temper tantrum, threatening dire retaliation against our allies for high tariffs THAT DON’T EXIST.

Canada will remain one of our oldest trusted allies. They are going nowhere.

Trudeau will soon be shown the door by Canadians who have seen thru his reliance pretty boy acting with zero results.

How long will it take to figure out whether or not they’re serious, I said, maybe in the first minute. You know, the way they say you know if you’re going to like somebody in the first five seconds, you ever hear that one? Well, I think very quickly, I’ll know whether or not something good is going to happen.””

Kud-Low” he can’t put Trump in a position of being weak going into the North Korean talks with Kim. He can’t do that.”
“Trump is weak, and the fact that one could hear the whine in Larry Kudlow’s voice as he demanded an apology shows how this White House mirrors the man at the top. When things go badly, Trump screams unfair and starts whining and demanding apologies.”

Well, I think very quickly, I’ll know whether or not something good is going to happen.” “Well, I think the minimum would be relationship. You’d start at least a dialogue. Because, you know, as a deal person, I’ve done very well with deals. What you want to do is start that. Now, I’d like to accomplish more than that. But at a minimum, I do believe, at least we’ll have met each other. We will have seen each other. Hopefully we will have liked each other and we’ll start that process. So I would say that would be the minimal. And the maximum, I think you know the answer to that. But I think that will take a little bit of time.” ‘feel’ ill.

” “I want you to react to what Peter Navarro and Larry Kudlow said. First, Navarro, saying ‘Justin Trudeau has a special place in hell reserved for him for attempting to diplomatically hoodwink this President, Donald J. Trump.’ I have rarely heard such harsh back and forth between senior advisers, representatives of administrations, to another country’s leader.” “if I were a steelworker, I’d be quite offended that Donald Trump is trying to use the steel industry and steelworkers to somehow affect dairy. That’s not how this should be done. At the end of the day, a trade war doesn’t help anyone and it’s going to ultimately hurt middle-class families across America.””
