President Donald Trump will not host Russian President Vladimir Putin in Washington until 2019, White House national security adviser John Bolton said Wednesday, because it is Trump’s preference not to do so until “the Russia witch hunt is over.”

“The President believes that the next bilateral meeting with President Putin should take place after the Russia witch hunt is over, so we’ve agreed that it will be after the first of the year,” Bolton said in a statement distributed through the White House press pool.

Despite the White House’s announced timeline for a second Putin meeting, there is no hard deadline for special counsel Robert Mueller to wrap up his Russia investigation, which Trump has often referred to as a “witch hunt.” And there is no public indication that Mueller will do so by the end of the year.

Yeah, Mueller is most certainly NOT letting Trump dictate the length of the investigation.

As for that meeting with Putin, after the investigation is complete there is a strong possibility that the only people Trump will be visiting with will be his team of lawyers.

Apparently, this, along with some tough talk from  Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, is supposed to signal that a tougher attitude toward Russia.

I assume that means that Trump will make Putin say “pretty please” before he hands over state secrets from now on.

After watching Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell last night we have more and more info to research and add. Under oath the Donald claimed that he does not tape conversations. Of course he is a LIAR. Don has used this method to bribe, extort, threaten and harass all of his filthy dirty nasty life. He lied to the Court only because those tapes will incriminate HIM. Evidence!!! The day that pos sob is arrested, convicted and sentenced to prison along with his enablers will be the Celebration of all celebrations and holiday for the world and mostly Americans.

“Facebook shares were down 20.4 percent at $173.20 in premarket trading, a decline that would wipe about $128 billion off the company’s value – or nearly four times the entire market capitalization of Twitter Inc.

Facebook’s second-quarter results were the first sign that a new European privacy law and a string of privacy scandals involving Cambridge Analytica and other app developers are hitting the company’s business.”

    OT?
“Iran’s Quds force chief Qassem Soleimani warned U.S. President Donald Trump against war on Thursday, saying it would “destroy all that you possess”, the website of Iran’s Arabic language Al Alam TV reported.

“You know that this WAR will destroy all that you possess. You will start this WAR but we will be the ones to impose its end. Therefore you have to be careful about insulting the Iranian people and the president of our Republic,”
Soleimani said in a speech, as reported by Al Alam in Arabic.

“You know our power in the region and our capabilities in asymmetric WAR. We will act and we will work,”<rawstory

    WTF???

A Single Trump Appointee Was Responsible For Keeping Hundreds Of Kids Locked Up Longer
He’s the same guy who blocked a teenage migrant who’d been raped from obtaining an abortion.

A Trump appointee’s decision to personally review requests to release migrant children from jail-like “secure facilities” created a bureaucratic bottleneck that dramatically increased the amount of time kids spent locked up.

Office of Refugee Resettlement chief E. Scott Lloyd ― who first attracted national interest when a federal court slapped down his attempt to ban a teenage migrant who’d been raped from obtaining an abortion ― told subordinates last year that he’d have to personally sign off before any kids could be released from ORR’s secure facilities.

As a result, hundreds of kids spent extra time in the jail-like facilities, which have been associated with far more allegations of abuse and mistreatment than the shelters and homestays that hold most of the children in ORR custody.

YouTube issues warning to Infowars founder Alex Jones, takes down four videos
Infowars and Jones have become a flashpoint as platforms have pledged to crack down on users who push outlandish conspiracy theories.

YouTube on Wednesday removed four videos from the channel of Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist who founded the far-right media outlet Infowars, and issued a warning that more violations could result in a ban from the video platform.

Jones’ channel was issued a “strike,” first reported by The Verge, as part of YouTube’s three-strike policy for publishers who abuse the platform’s terms of service. A source familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly confirmed the strike was issued. The four videos counted together as one strike, the source confirmed.

All four of the videos were removed for violating the rules of “violent or graphic content,” according to a screenshot of the violations posted by Infowars. Two of the videos featured anti-Muslim content, including one in which Jones claimed that Muslims had invaded Europe. Another was flagged for anti-transgender content in which Jones appeared to threaten transgender people. The fourth showed an adult man and a young boy engaged in a physical altercation under the title “How To Prevent Liberalism.”

Three strikes within a 90-day window would warrant a ban from the platform under YouTube’s rules, meaning Jones’ channel would be deleted.

Judge allows lawsuit against Trump’s Census citizenship question to proceed

A federal district court judge on Thursday denied a request from the Trump administration to dismiss a lawsuit challenging its decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

Judge Jesse Furman on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said the plaintiffs had plausibly alleged that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’s decision to reinstate the citizenship question was motivated at least in part by “discriminatory animus” and will result in a discriminatory effect.

    WTF? “reverse Nixon”

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/henry-kissinger-pushed-trump-to-work-with-russia-to-box-in-china?ref=home

“The former secretary of state—who famously engineered the tactic of establishing diplomatic relations with China in order to isolate the Soviet Union—pitched almost the inverse of that idea to Trump during a series of private meetings during the presidential transition, five people familiar with the matter told The Daily Beast. The potential strategy would use closer relations with Russia, along with other countries in the region, to box in China’s growing power and influence.

Kissinger also pitched the idea to Jared Kushner, the top White House adviser whose portfolio includes foreign-policy matters”

“The mere fact that Kissinger was given an audience to make his pitch—he’s met with Trump at least three times since the 2016 campaign—is a testament to his tremendous staying power in top political circles, despite a controversial foreign policy track record that includes numerous accusations of war crimes. ” “Kissinger is no Russophobe, either. He has met with Putin 17 times over the years. And Kissinger has repeatedly advocated for a better working relationship between Washington and Moscow. Of last week’s summit in Helsinki between Trump and Putin, Kissinger said, “It was a meeting that had to take place. I have advocated it for several years.” He has also expressed doubt about the purpose of Russian interference in the election, and promoted a better balance of power among the world’s largest influencers.”
“During the 2016 presidential campaign, various figures in the Trump orbit—not just Kissinger—discussed a strategy of shoring up relations not only with Russia, but also with Japan, the Philippines, India, Middle Eastern countries, and others as a wide-ranging international counterweight to what was pitched as the dominant Chinese threat.”
” A congressional source familiar with the strategy said Bannon often focused on “civilizational threats that face the U.S. emanating from Arab world and China.” Indeed, Bannon has backed populist, nationalist parties throughout Europe based in large part on appealing to identity politics and perceived international threats. Those same parties have often embraced and praised Putin.

Among Capitol Hill foreign policy circles, the source added, the view is that Kissinger’s motivations for pursuing the reverse of his own policy from the 1970s are “more intellectually honest and honorable” than Bannon’s. Though a separate source familiar with the transition talks said the two individuals had a fair amount of overlap in terms of their world views.”

Eric Swalwell schools Fox host on Russia probe: ‘If this is such a hoax, why are so many people pleading guilty?’

…“Bill, I’ve read every piece of information available to me,” Swalwell shot back. “I have also seen the guilty pleas. And so, I would ask, if this is such a hoax, why are so many people pleading guilty? Why are so many people under indictments? And why is this investigation continuing to grow? Why would you tamper with witnesses? Why would you obstruct justice.”

“And why would you refuse, as the president has, to sit down in the witness chair if it’s a hoax,” he continued. “It looks a lot like there’s evidence out there and we should let it reach its logical conclusion.”

Hemmer argued that Congress was only doing its job by attempting to impeach Rosenstein.

Swalwell retorted: “Bill, in what case would a police officer ever sit down with a suspect and say, ‘Before I interview you, I want you to see all of the evidence I have against you’? You don’t do that because witnesses will tailor their answers to the evidence that exists.”

“Because it’s the president of the United States, [House Republicans] are doing everything they can to protect him,” he added. “It’s corrosive and we should do everything to stop this.”

Avenatti claims ‘new evidence’ that Cohen and Trump were ‘concerned about a pregnancy’ in 2016

…Specifically, Avenatti alleged that “Donald Trump conspired with Michael Cohen to pay off multiple other women prior to Election Day in 2016.” More intriguingly, Avenatti claims that “they were also concerned about a pregnancy.”

Avenatti went on to write that “Cohen has evidence and info in his possession and it must be released to the public.”

Feds subpoena Trump Organization’s financial chief in criminal probe of ‘fixer’ Michael Cohen

Federal officials have issued a subpoena to longtime Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg in their criminal probe of former Trump “fixer” Michael Cohen.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Weisselberg is “considered a witness” in the investigation of Cohen, whose office was raided by the FBI this past April.

“For decades, Mr. Weisselberg has served as executive vice president and chief financial officer at the Trump Organization, and was once described by a person close to the company as ‘the most senior person in the organization that’s not a Trump,’” the Journal writes. “The subpoena illustrates that investigators are seeking input from Mr. Trump’s closest colleagues in the Trump Organization, particularly those with knowledge of the company’s financial dealings.”

Mueller looking at using Trump’s tweets against him as obstruction case heats up: report

…According to The New York Times, Trump’s tweets, actions and public statements have drawn enough attention that Mueller is now investigating them as part of an obstruction of justice probe.

The president not only fired former FBI Director James Comey and admitted to it being tied to the Russia investigation, he’s also employed a disinformation campaign on Twitter.

Trump’s lawyers claim that none of what Mueller has focused on falls under obstruction and the president’s decision to fire Comey fell under his right as president. They think that Trump shouldn’t even have to answer to Mueller on the issue of obstruction.

Privately, however, The Times said that Trump’s lawyers have been concerned about it.

“The special counsel’s investigators have told Mr. Trump’s lawyers they are examining the tweets under a wide-ranging obstruction-of-justice law beefed up after the Enron accounting scandal, according to the three people,” The Times wrote. “The investigators did not explicitly say they were examining possible witness tampering, but the nature of the questions they want to ask the president, and the fact that they are scrutinizing his actions under a section of the United States Code titled ‘Tampering With a Witness, Victim, or an Informant,’ raised concerns for his lawyers about Mr. Trump’s exposure in the investigation.”

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani claimed it was all nonsense, saying that because Trump’s statements were public, they’re not obstruction.

“If you’re going to obstruct justice, you do it quietly and secretly, not in public,” he said.

““A thing that is not a crime can be EVIDENCE of a crime,” writes White. “This is particularly true when it comes to a potential defendant’s mental state — what they knew and when they knew it, what they intended, and so forth.”

White then goes into the Rules of Evidence to give examples of how Mueller might use Trump’s tweets to establish intent.”
“Bringing it back to the president, White explains that Trump’s tweets attacking the Mueller probe, along with his attacks on key figures in the investigation such as former FBI Director James Comey, could really come back to burn the president when used as evidence against him.

“In the case of the President of the United States, it’s perfectly plausible that his tweets could be evidence of (1) what he knew and when, and (2) what he intended when he did other things off of Twitter,” “It doesn’t mean the tweets themselves are a crime.””

White House Hides Trump From Reporters, Blames ‘Fog’ (It is 83 Degrees and Sunny in DC)

…The stated reason for this change in departure, according to the White House pool reporter? Fog in Washington D.C.

It is not foggy in Washington D.C.

According to the pool reporter (via NBC’s Hallie Jackson), the White House cited “bad weather” as the reason for Trump taking the motorcade instead of the chopper — with “fog” specifically to blame. Jackson snapped a picture showing the conditions in Washington at the time of departure.

    Yeah…no fog.

At Rockefeller Heir’s Dinner, Accused Russian Butina Hobnobbed With D.C. Elites

A scion of the Rockefeller clan, George D. O’Neill Jr., was one of the U.S. conservatives who allegedly helped Mariia Butina’s efforts to build a secret line of communication back to the Kremlin, judging by details in recent U.S. filings.

O’Neill, a 68-year-old sculptor and a rainmaker for conservatives since Pat Buchanan’s 1992 presidential run, hosted a private dinner in Washington, D.C., for a delegation of Russian dignitaries in town for a National Prayer Breakfast in early February 2017, he has said publicly and to Bloomberg last year. There, just days after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Russians met two Republican lawmakers and other conservative luminaries, he has said.

The dinner is also referenced in a trip itinerary given to Russian delegates traveling to Washington for the breakfast, which was reviewed by Bloomberg. Delegates also received a Russian-language rundown of the Americans they could expect to meet at the dinner. Among them were O’Neill and his wife, a Russian-speaking congressional aide and a conservative operative they were told was an adviser to the new Trump administration, according to a document reviewed by Bloomberg.

The timing and details of that early 2017 gathering matches one of several dinners that U.S. prosecutors refer to in charges they recently unveiled against Butina, accusing her of failing to declare her efforts to advance Russia’s interests in the U.S. Prosecutors identify the host only as U.S. Person 2. O’Neill didn’t respond to requests to verify that he was that person. The Justice Department declined to comment.

…Alleging that Butina failed to disclose her efforts, the prosecutors have laid out a multiyear timeline culminating with the National Prayer Breakfast, the private dinner — and emails from Butina suggesting she’d realized some degree of success.

Before the prayer breakfast visit, Butina wrote in an email that the delegation of about a dozen Russians would include “VERY influential” people close to the Kremlin coming to establish a back channel of communications. They included a Russian close to President Vladimir Putin, who has been identified as Alexander Torshin. Afterward, according to another email cited by prosecutors, Butina wrote the person believed to be O’Neill to thank him for the “wonderful dinner.” She added: “My dearest President has received ‘the message’ about your group initiatives and your constructive and kind attention to the Russians.”
