“F*ck you and your f*cking Democrats!” Nancy Pelosi verbally assaulted at Florida campaign event.

A group of hecklers angrily confronted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi during a campaign stop for a congressional hopeful in South Florida, cursing at her and calling her a communist in a moment that was captured on video.

It was yet another incident that stoked fears that the country’s bitter and emotional political environment is at risk of leading to violence.

The video shows a small group of protesters cursing at Pelosi (D-Calif.), and calling her a communist in English and Spanish, as she enters an event on Wednesday in Coral Gables, Fla., to campaign for Democrat Donna Shalala, who is running to fill the seat vacated by the retiring Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) in Miami.

“You don’t belong here,” one says. “Afuera!”

After Pelosi calmly walks by them and enters the building, people bang on the door.

“Open up! It’s the Proud Boys in here,” one says, referencing the far-right group that was implicated in a street brawl in New York last weekend.

“Socialism sucks,” others chant.

I think the excuse for this kind of behavior from the conservatives is that it mirrors the behaviors from the Left directed at Republican politicians.

But if memory serves those interactions focused on policy decisions and calling out “shame” for those working in the Trump Administration.

This seemed substantially more aggressive, but it is to be expected which is one of the reasons that I said I did not agree with public confrontations.

It is also a little chilling to hear these people identify as “Proud Boys” when that group is now credibly connected to violence against counter protesters and even innocent civilians walking the streets.

Just imagine what one of these over testosteroned assholes might do if they could get close enough to 78-year-old Nancy Pelosi.

P.S. Here’s an added wrinkle recently discovered.

Well so much for grassroots-driven protests.

This is downright scary. And it has no place in American politics. This morning our local paper (Traverse City Record-Eagle) carried an insane rant by a local Republican in which he accused Democrats of all sorts of things, none of them in any way accurate. This must be what comes from living your life in a Fox News bubble. Add the “Proud Boys” (what a misnomer) to the mix and it becomes really dangerous. And tomorrow the Democrats will be blamed for it. Just wait for the Sunday talk shows!

It’s everywhere, it’s becoming much worse, and — as Beaglemom says — it’s scary.

I live in a small, rural VA county — 12,000 population, two traffic lights in the county, votes reliably 60-40 Republican. We all get along.

With the election coming up, we Democrats and our Republican neighbors put out our respective candidate signs — big 4×8 signs with candidates’ names, along county roadsides. About 10 days ago, two small signs started popping up flanking the Republican Congressional candidate’s big signs. The two small signs read: “Defeat Socialism, Vote Republican,” and, “Results not Resistance, Vote Republicans.” Pissed me off.

Two days ago, out of the blue without prompting from me, a Republican friend of mine asked if I had seen the small signs, “Something about socialism,” she said. Told her, yes, I have seen them. She then said “I want all you Democrats to understand that we County Republicans had nothing to do with those signs. They are not ours and we don’t like them.”

She went on to explain — County Republicans have a big oyster roast each year in early October. “A woman we don’t know, claimed to represent a Republican organization” showed up at their oyster roast, asked to speak, and started pulling out the “socialism” signs. No one took any and the County Republican Chairman asked her to leave.

I’ve just about tracked down who is responsible for these signs — some nutcases from over in the Shenandoah Valley who supported the Charlottesville rioters.

Letters to editors in our local papers from Republicans have become filled with horseshit copied from Trump’s raving speeches.

My truck is festooned with decals identifying me as Army retired; Vietnam Vet; US Army Ranger; Airborne; Special Forces; Proud Democrat; Elect a Clown, Expect a Circus. I’ve been threatened with a pistol once; I’m shown The Finger regularly; tailgated . . .

These people are dangerous and crazy.

I’ve broken with all family and friends that voted for Trump, that being said, it’s easy for me because I live in AK and most of my people, except for my brother in Seattle, live in the Shenandoah Valley. Been in AK for 30 years and try very hard to not have to travel back to the homeland very often.

At some point we have to shun our fellow American that stand with trump and his cast of lousy paid actors. We cannot accept that an American citizen is too dumb, too hateful, too racist or too corrupt to know the difference between criminal vs alt facts. The group aligning with trump and his thoughts sadly are people that we know and don’t know. Why they are standing for this harm to America? What did majority of Americans miss? Since when is raping children, murdering journalist, wasting tax dollars and polluting the world ok? It is time for Mr. Mueller to indict trump and putin. It is time to round up the lousy paid actors. It is time to stop this bad reality chit show. Americans are ready to take back their country and will do it with fire and fury.

“The Proud Boys, called a hate group by the SPLC, joined the Miami Dade GOP’s protest of Shalala’s office event with Pelosi yesterday
As a result of the angry mob’s conduct, the building reportedly had to be locked down by Secret Service and law enforcement. Ricky Junquera, Outreach Vice Chairman of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party, said, “I was on the other side of that door with the Capitol Police, helping to deadbolt the entrance from an angry mob. I’ve never seen anything like this in all of my years in Miami politics, or anywhere else for that matter.” “Diaz, the Miami-Dade County Republican Party chairman, is employed by the Southern Strategy Group, a government relations firm.”
“In footage of the demonstration that was posted on Big League Politics, it appears as though Cabrera (in a black shirt) joined Diaz as part of the angry mob:

Wow, cracks me up that a buncha folks speaking spanish are heckling a Democrat. Kinda makes me feel a little less bad about Trump sending all their lame asses back to places where they speak their language. Hope these miscreants get deported back to where they can speak their mother language freely, while running from gangs.

Does anyone wonder since trump is ranting that the Democrats have PAID the caravan people to come to the USA to vote ( OMG doesn’t he know you need to be a citizen to vote) that it is very convenient they have shown up just before the election and some rich republican or republican group with dark money (russians) might have actually PAID them?

    • Beaglemom October 21, 2018 at 8:14 am

Apparently Republicans are so stupid that they think illegal aliens can vote. You have to be a citizen to vote. I doubt there are any undocumented people in the US who are silly enough to walk into a polling place on election day to try to vote. It would be a very quick way to be deported. Are there any Republicans out there who can think? Or who do think? Are they all so brainwashed that they believe every little word spoken on Fox News?
