The father of two Parkland shooting survivors was reportedly shot and killed during a robbery at his convenience store this week.
An NBC affiliate in Miami reported that Ayub Ali, whose son and daughter survived the mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school, died on Tuesday night. The news outlet notes that Ali, 61, was a father of four.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office told NBC that Ali was fatally shot at his North Lauderdale convenience store. The network reported that Lauderdale Lakes BSO deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue paramedics discovered a wounded Ali when they arrived at Aunt Molly’s Food Store.
He was later transported to Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Just a reminder that gun violence is pervasive in our society.
Especially in Florida.
I feel so sorry for this man’s family and for all the family of victims of the Parkland senseless shooting spree. I don’t think it was just a coincidence that this man was murdered. I think he was targeted and I fear that other parents and their children are also being targeted. Their impact on the American people since the shootings occurred during the last school year must have the gun-crazies in a tizzy. One way they can silence them is to silence them forever. Whatever is happening to this country!
we have to stop the gun people. maybe we should shoot a few of them and THEIR kids. i know that is horrible but they need their eyes opened. guns don’t keep you safe. guns make it worse. Ali, my heart bleeds for your family. you are with your children now.
No, that is NOT the solution.
And the only reason I am letting your comment through is to tell you that no that is NOT the solution.
