Donald Trump’s clumsy attempts at foreign relations are quite worrisome. And now he is supposed to meet the Queen of England?

President Donald Trump will meet Queen Elizabeth when he visits Britain next month, the US Ambassador to the UK Robert Wood Johnson said.

Speaking to Sky News in the UK, Johnson said: “He has to see the head of state. Putting his foot on the ground of British soil, it’s job one — very, very important, very symbolic.”

“Meeting Her Majesty is the most important thing because she’s the head of state, and from there on, it’ll be what the president wants to do,” Johnson said.

Now see most of the time this would be seen as either a positive thing or at the very least no cause for concern.

But not with Donald Trump in office.

Donald Trump is the proverbial bull in the china shop when it comes to international affairs, and has a nasty habit of pissing off people who have traditionally been BFFs with America.

I mean the guy even turned Canada against us. Canada!

It was reported yesterday that he treated Angela Merkel like either a small child or a house pet, depending on your interpretation.

Courtesy of Newsweek:

During his controversial meeting with leaders of the G-7 less than two weeks ago, President Donald Trump allegedly threw two pieces of Starburst candies on the table in front of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, saying “Here, Angela. Don’t say I never give you anything.”

The exchange, described on CBS News by Eurasia Group President Ian Bremmer, sheds further light on the tense atmosphere depicted in the now famous photograph of the meeting, in which Trump appears with his arms crossed and a defiant scowl across his face.

He threw candy at the German Chancellor?

WTF? Who does that?

Trump also wants to punish countries that do not send their best people to America.

No, seriously!

Courtesy of NBC News:

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he wants to cut off aid to countries that “abuse” the United States by sending “not their best” people to its border, describing the proposal as a bipartisan approach.

“We want to end the border crisis by finally giving us the legal authorities and the resources to detain and remove illegal immigrant families all together and bring them back to their country,” Trump told the National Federation of Independent Businesses’ 75th-anniversary event in Washington.

“Now think of all that aid that we give to some of these countries,” he said. “Well, I’m going to go very shortly for authorization that when countries abuse us by sending their people up — not their best — we’re not going to give any more aid to those countries.”

Following applause from the crowd, he added: “Why the hell should we? This is a responsible, common-sense approach that all lawmakers should embrace, Democrats and Republicans.

First off it is typically individuals who decide to come to America, not countries who decide to send people here.

That is a Right Wing conspiracy theory.

And second, WHAT is the criteria for deciding whether or not somebody is the “best” that a country has to offer?

Is Trump expecting people with PhDs to travel across the desert to bring their families here?

And I guess third, is Trump ever going to apply the same criteria to the Russians who flock here to give birth in Trump properties on American soil?

Courtesy of The Daily Beast:

While Trump rails against U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants, his Florida properties have become a playground for birth tourists from Russia’s upper crust. The Daily Beast has discovered several companies are advertising rentals in Trump properties to expectant Russian parents. While the Trump Organization does not directly profit from subleases of privately owned condos, it does benefit from Russian patronage of the nearby Trump International Beach Resort. (The Trump Organization did not return requests comment.)

Many of the companies that cater to Russian birth tourists advertise their services openly and warn no one will get in trouble as long as they don’t lie on immigration paperwork.

Or is it that Russians get special compensation as they do in every other situation with this president?

Before Trump leaves office there is a very real possibility that he will have destroyed American’s relationship with all of its most trusted allies and subjugated the country to our traditional enemies.

Blah , Blah Blah he talks out of all sides of his mouth.

I have a feeling he is going to regret meeting the Queen, she will have no qualms about telling him what a moron he is, only in a nice English Queen way.

The best part is the trumps are going to look like a couple of hillbillies, since they can’t be bothered to learn any protocol and the Queen is really big on protocol. Lucky for us, she has met some real presidents, not these two yokels.

Actually these immigrants have a lot to offer the USA, most of them work in agriculture and there is a great need for agricultural workers to pick crops. Many farmers are complaining they have to let crops rot in the fields because they can’t find Americans to do the work and there aren’t enough agriculture visas.

Also I would hate to tell trump, but if he is going to go by intelligence, neither he nor his wife or children would be allowed into this country.

Agree. My son has worked for years with immigrants, mostly Hispanics, and he has always praised their work ethic and their sense of fair play. It’s a shame that, since very few people in leadership positions in Trump’s administration or his GOP have ever actually worked with people, they have so little experience with how ordinary people live their lives. The Trump family and their friends assume that ordinary people are always out to line their pockets and cheat their employers but that’s because all of their experience has been with people like themselves.

Have you seen the photo-shopped picture of this, with Trump seated in a high chair, spaghetti all over the tray, and an upside down bowl of spaghetti on his head? I wish I could find it again!

I wish Queen Elizabeth did not have to even acknowledge the existence of The Donald. She will be the epitome of grace and class, and as I have read that her eyes can freeze the balls off a brass monkey , I hope she slices and dices The Donald in that ultra polite way the Brits do so well.

After his latest debacle as a human rights violator, maybe the protests will be so great that they cancel the trip for “security’ reasons. the Queen is no fool and there is the added benefit that her new granddaughter doesn’t like trump either.

Agreed. I wish she hadn’t given consent for this meeting, as well. It legitimizes his position on the world stage and makes it look as if his presence is welcomed by the British people. Hopefully, there will be massive anti-Trump demostrations during his visit.

Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth has to do what the government (i.e., the prime minister) asks her to do. The prime minister should have revoked the invitation but I guess the current UK government is worried about tariffs.

I think Britain should let Donald meet either the wax dummy Queen or an animatronic Queen. Not like he would know the difference. It’s just all about the pictures.

  8. Anonymous June 22, 2018 at 5:36 pm

Queen to trump: Frankly my dear, you are a pompous ass.

  9. SRH June 22, 2018 at 9:46 pm

Never gets to meet the Queen! Protestors have promised to drive him out if he’s even able to get off the plane! Millions have already denounced him and refuse to allow him anywhere in the U.K.
