Remember this from last night?
Just about everybody recognized that as a threat from Trump that investigations against him would have political consequences.
However, that did not seem to impress the Democrats very much.
Courtesy of WaPo:
For weeks, President Trump has been warning Democrats not to investigate him and his administration too aggressively. He repeated that message at Tuesday’s State of Union: “An economic miracle is taking place in the United States, and the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics, or ridiculous partisan investigations.”
House Democrats are clearly not cowed. In fact, quite the opposite.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.) laid out an extensive — and expansive — outline for how his committee will resume its probing of Russia. Schiff laid out five areas of inquiry. They include the ones you’d expect and are familiar with because of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation: Russian interference, potential collusion and potential obstruction of justice.
But then there are Nos. 3 and 4:
“(3) Whether any foreign actor has sought to compromise or holds leverage, financial or otherwise, over Donald Trump, his family, his business, or his associates.”
“(4) Whether President Trump, his family, or his associates are or were at any time at heightened risk of, or vulnerable to, foreign exploitation, inducement, manipulation, pressure, or coercion, or have sought to influence U.S. government policy in service of foreign interests.”
This is something Democrats including Schiff have been previewing for a while, but now it’s officially a major part of the committee’s purview. And the broad berth he’s given himself suggests that he’s ready to go after any number of things: Trump Tower Moscow, the claims in the Steele dossier about Russian kompromat on Trump, Trump’s highly secretive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump’s business and its foreign entanglements, the Trump Organization and even Trump’s family, which Schiff mentions specifically.
Here was Trump’s reaction to hearing that Adam Schiff was coming for him.

Presidential harassment my ass. Try whining about that to Barack Obama.
According to the LA Times that is not all the Democrats have in store for Trump:
A day after the State of the Union address, House Democrats responded Wednesday by launching a counter-agenda, including a series of investigations into the Trump administration and legislation they hope will send a compelling message to voters ahead of the 2020 election.
Democrats this week will hold nearly half a dozen investigative hearings into Trump administration officials and programs, and convene even more panels to discuss policy issues such as climate change, universal background checks for gun purchases and campaign finance reform — all partisan initiatives.
The rollout of the House Democrats’ agenda was delayed by the 35-day partial government shutdown over President Trump’s demand for money to build a wall along the southern border. That threat hasn’t completely subsided. Lawmakers are trying to craft a deal to avert another shutdown by Feb. 15.
But newly empowered Democrats, particularly members of the energetic freshman class, are ready to get moving.
“He’s not ready for it at all,” fifth-term Rep. Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) said of Trump, who spent the first two years of his presidency dealing with a Congress controlled by Republicans. “He calls it presidential harassment. He doesn’t get the basic process [of congressional oversight]. So that’s the part that’s scary.”
In other words, Trump poked the bear, and the bear is going to rip him a new asshole.
I swear this guy is so incredibly stupid sometimes it almost defies description.
