Donald Trump has chickened out after threatening to sue Stormy Daniels for breaking her contract.

Damn, somebody is running scared.

Courtesy of the AP:

President Donald Trump does not believe porn actress Stormy Daniels’ hush-money deal, which his former personal lawyer said was done to influence the 2016 presidential election, is valid and will not carry out threats to sue her for breaking the agreement by discussing details of their alleged affair, Trump’s attorney said in a court filing Saturday.

Hours earlier an attorney for the company set up to handle the deal offered to rescind Daniels’ nondisclosure agreement. The company, Essential Consultants, also scrapped a threatened $20 million lawsuit against Daniels.

The two developments could kill efforts by Daniels’ attorney, Michael Avenatti, to force the president to give sworn testimony about what he and his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, might have known about the deal, if a judge agrees to now dismiss the case. The offers remove any legal risk to Daniels stemming from her public discussion of the alleged affair and the alleged efforts to hide it.

In Saturday’s court filing, Trump’s attorney, Charles Harder, said the president doesn’t dispute Daniels’ assertion that the contract isn’t valid and never considered himself as a party to the agreement. Both Trump and Cohen have asked Daniels to now drop her lawsuit.

I think it is crystal clear that Trump is terrified to face Michale Avenatti in court, and is doing everything to get out being deposed by him.

Yesterday I posted that the Michael Cohen shell company, Essential Consultants, was demanding that Daniels pay back that initial $130,000, but I will bet my house that they drop that as well in order to get out from under this.

And it does not appear that Avaneattie has any desire to back off now that he has his prey cornered:

Avenatti told The Associated Press that he did not have to accept the offer and would not settle the case without deposing Trump and Cohen. He said he was still reviewing his options but wasn’t worried about the developments.

Avenatti said he thought Harder’s court filing was “worthless,” had “numerous problems” and “means nothing.”

“We are tired of the constant delays and games being played,” he said. “We want these depositions as soon as possible.”

By the way, Trump is already being forced to submit written answers to the court in the Summer Zervos sexual assault trial, so we may get multiple episodes of the new fall his show “Watch the President Lie Under Oath.”

Well, I certainly know that I am willing to clear my calendar to watch that!

AFAIK Trump has chickened out of all his threats to sue women. During the campaign — was it something like 11 or 15 or 16 women who accused him of impropriety (to put it mildly)? And didn’t he stand up in front of shrieking, cheering, hooting deplorables and promise to sue very one of them?

Yes, the big blow hard was bragging he was going to sue them just as soon as the campaign was over.

Until someone with big enough balls has the strength to come out and put an END to the nonsense that is this administration, the answer my friend is blowing in the wind.

So willing to lie under oath, one has to wonder how bad it is that those who have pled guilty did.

Could someone please explain to me how it is legal that they are asking her to pay back money to a “shell corporation”? Is the “shell corporation” going to pay taxes on this income and isn’t that forcing her to funnel money into a fake company?

Also since trump already paid Cohen back isn’t that double dipping?

      They can ask for anything.

Strormy can do what she wants.

Without a legal decision they are entitled to get …FUCKING NOTHING!

labeled ‘shell corporations ‘, are still corporations, as long as they are legal. ‘nothing new under the sun here.

Is this a surprise to anyone? Trump, or I should say his lawyers, are scared of him testifying in ANY court about anything. They know he can’t keep his stories straight and lies like a rug.

BTW there’s speculation he might use his mental incapacity as a defense against impeachment. Yeah, he’ll use “I’m unhinged.” as a defense to remain president. (And I’ll bet the GOP backs him up on that.)

Sorry, but we can defend against a president Pence and obstruct his brand of christian-cray. Trump will start WWIII.

    To quote Greg Stillsen, Hallelujah.
