Congressional Republicans prepare for the long list of investigations they anticipate if the Democrats flip the House.

Congressional Republicans are getting ready for hell. Axios has obtained a spreadsheet that’s circulated through Republican circles on and off Capitol Hill — including at least one leadership office — that meticulously previews the investigations Democrats will likely launch if they flip the House.

Here are some of the probes it predicts:

President Trump’s tax returns

Trump family businesses — and whether they comply with the Constitution’s emoluments clause, including the Chinese trademark grant to the Trump Organization

Trump’s dealings with Russia, including the president’s preparation for his meeting with Vladimir Putin

The payment to Stephanie Clifford — a.k.a. Stormy Daniels

James Comey’s firing

Trump’s firing of U.S. attorneys

Trump’s proposed transgender ban for the military

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s business dealings

White House staff’s personal email use

Cabinet secretary travel, office expenses, and other misused perks

Discussion of classified information at Mar-a-Lago

Jared Kushner’s ethics law compliance

Dismissal of members of the EPA board of scientific counselors

The travel ban

Family separation policy

Hurricane response in Puerto Rico

Election security and hacking attempts

White House security clearances

The spreadsheet — which I’m told originated in a senior House Republican office — catalogs more than 100 formal requests from House Democrats this Congress, spanning nearly every committee.

The spreadsheet includes requests for administration officials to be grilled by committee staff, requests for hearings to obtain sworn testimony, efforts to seize communications about controversial policies and personnel decisions, and subpoena threats.
These demands would turn the Trump White House into a 24/7 legal defense operation.

Man, I thought I was excited about voting before, but having read this I am chomping at the bit.

“invited some black pastors to the White House. They just sat there and told him how great he was.” “for black folks in general, Trump is a name that is more despised than Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and that is no small feat.”

“Elijah Cummings could turn out to be Donald Trump’s worst nightmare”

Rogan>’“First off, McCain is a person of high integrity. The best evidence for this is rendered by McCain’s television appearances on ABC’s ‘The View.’ Surrounded by liberals with whom she fundamentally disagrees, McCain balances passionate argument and respect,” ““Finally, McCain has a good sense of humor and a natural, unpretentious sense of class,” “I have attended a party hosted by McCain on one occasion and was struck by her relaxed tenor and good company.”

Governor Ducey has said he will not make his selection until after Sen. McCain’s body is interred this weekend.”

Be careful; this “document” may be a red herring in order to re-energize his “base”, i.e. low-info, know-nothing supporters of his. Nonetheless, as a Canadian, I implore our American neighbours ( the educated, informed electorate), on Nov. 6, vote BLUE right down the ticket!!

O/T – fatso is boasting of a bi-lateral free-trade deal with Mexico; no details released, NO mention of Canada. How nice!! The fat fuck is trying to tank our economy; he is threatening a tariff on Canadian-built vehicles and Canadian- made parts. If he wants to play dirty, so can we, i.e. cut off cross-border oil and gas shipments, hydro-electric power, and water!! Sorry for my rant; I’m seething!

little donnie said he is eliminating NAFTA, well he doesn’t have that power, only Congress can do that

      Another day, another LIE !!!

Trump Pretends To ‘End’ NAFTA; Ali Velshi Asks For ‘English To English’ Translation

Whatever that stupid conference call with Mexico’s president was supposed to accomplish, mark it hashtag Fail.

It didn’t distract from all the guilty pleas, convictions, indictments, and immunity deals in which Trump is now buried.
It didn’t distract from his WATB response to the death of John McCain.
And above all, it didn’t create a trade deal with Mexico or ‘end’ NAFTA.

And CNBC reporter Ron Insana just calmly pointed that out as a matter of fact to his audience of business news addicts:

ALI VELSHI: [The phone call with Mexico provided] simultaneous translation from the Spanish to English for the Mexican president. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a simultaneous translation for the English to the English because the president made not a whole lot of sense. That was a little hard to interpret.

RON INSANA: It’s a point of understanding it the way president Nieto described it. That sounds like a framework agreement where details still have to be put in place.

VELSHI: It’s not a replacement for NAFTA?

INSANA: No, Congress would have to sign that and Canada would have to sign it. The president can repeal and replace NAFTA, but it would take congressional approval. NAFTA is still in effect.

VELSHI: And the Mexican president referred to Canada about five times. This wasn’t a deal with Canada. Trump wants to tax Canadian cars. There are no Canadian car companies.

INSANA: That’s right. [US car makers] reimport their cars to the United States.

That would be kinda stupid a it basically lists everything Trump is guilty of, any one of which might take him down. Sorta handing it over to the Democrats. Doing all their work for them and basically admitting to everyone that they know exactly what Trump has been doing, how bad it is and that they enabled him anyway.

OT? ‘“narcissistic injury” “The phrase was coined by none other than Sigmund Freud in the 1920s, and it occurs when a narcissist feels that they have been disrespected, belittled, or their true self revealed. This often happens when they are experiencing a “fall from grace,” which is why understanding the phenomenon is so important at present. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders defines narcissistic injury as “vulnerability in self-esteem which makes narcissistic people very sensitive to injury from criticism or defeat.” The manual goes on to say “Although they may not show it outwardly, criticism may haunt these individuals and may leave them feeling humiliated, degraded, hollow, and empty.”>'”things don’t look good for The Donald. As the possibility of impeachment looms over the president, and as more damaging information comes out, we should be prepared for the erratic and impulsive behavior to which we’ve grown accustomed to get worse.” “If we can predict how Trump might react, we can better prepare for damage control and countering any destructive behavior or attempts to create further division and chaos. To do this requires looking to the field of psychology.” “narcissistic rage.”
“When this happens, the lashing out, bullying, threats, and erratic behaviors rise to new levels. Rather than accepting the blame one deserves for their own actions, narcissists tell themselves that others are responsible, and that they deserve to be punished. They often become obsessed with revenge>”As Donald Trump begins to feel more and more like his downfall is imminent, we should expect his behavior to become progressively chaotic, and a total meltdown is likely. When this happens, in a desperate attempt to regain control, he will likely call on his remaining loyal supporters to wreak havoc on the nation in HIS NAME. “

““The damage you have done to the Bureau betrays these families and sacrifices the financial futures of millions of Americans in communities across the country,””

The Trump Republicans must be investigated now today. What gives them the right to commit TREASON in the peoples Congress? Taxation without representation is cause to EXPEL each of them from the Congress, strip them of benefits, deny them access and remove them from office immediately. It is TREASON to allow someone to rig a United States of America Presidential Election and to continue to allow that phony lying crook another second occupying our house. Congressional republicans have committed the ultimate crime against America and they will pay dearly for generations for their selfish lack of professionalism.. T baggin slobs

    • Anonymous August 27, 2018 at 9:02 pm

No they won’t. Some won’t pay at all as their uneducated Deplorable constituents will continue to vote against their own best interests.

Those that wake up will slowly slip back and by 2020 will be voting for whatever Republican is on the ballot.

Oh, there is so much more than this.
Unfortunately this is just incentive for them to rush through confirming Kavanaugh even faster. They need him on the court to quash all of these “fake” investigations.

    (Kavanaugh = Fake Justice.)
