Bernie Sanders definitely plans to throw his hat in the 2020 presidential ring.

Of course, because things were going too smoothly.

Three years after fighting a surprisingly competitive Democratic primary race against Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Vermont independent, is making another run for the White House.

Two sources with direct knowledge of his plans told Yahoo News that Sanders, an independent and self-described “democratic socialist,” plans to announce his presidential bid imminently. While Sanders has been considering a bid for months, one of the sources said he was emboldened by early polls of the race that have consistently showed him as one of the top candidates in a crowded Democratic primary field. In particular, the source said Sanders was heartened to see numbers indicating he is one of the leading candidates among African American and Latino voters, two groups he was perceived as struggling with in 2016.

The source also alluded to a spate of recent polls that show Sanders as the most popular politician in the country. They attributed Sanders’ strength in the polls to the base and name recognition he built with the prior presidential bid.

“What the senator has this time that he didn’t have last time is he is the most popular elected official in the country right now,” the source said. “That’s light years away from 2016, when very few people knew who he was.”

I would not be at all surprised to learn that those polls were set up by the Russian troll farm and that their outcomes were manipulated to make it seem that Sanders is more popular than he is.

Let’s face it if you wanted to help Trump win a second term in office you would definitely want to have a Bernie Sanders in the mix screwing things up for the opposition.

The Bernie Bros have already started to harass certain females in the running, which is something Hillary Clinton finally addressed a while back.

Personally, I think that the Democratic party should just close the primary to anybody who is not a card-carrying member of the DNC.

We allowed ourselves to get distracted by this bullshit last time, it’s time we learned from our mistakes.

OMG, does he want the Democrats to lose again because I am beginning to think so.. I thought the Democrats passed a rule that stated you must be a Democrat to run on their ticket after his last fiasco.

Of course he does because “Jane His Wife” has $$ to make. I so remember what she said.
Go away, Bernie. If We The People didn’t want you the first time, what makes you think we’d want you a second?

Hillary didn’t lose because of Bernie. All of the post election analysis concluded that her loss was not because of Bernie.

    OT:

Pitt never lets me down. Ever.

    https://truthout.org/articles/trump-folds-on-shutdown-after-yet-another-historically-bad-week/

“… Pelosi’s stewardship of the new House Democratic majority has been nothing short of spectacular. From the government shutdown to her brinksmanship over the State of the Union, Pelosi has made chasing Trump up a tree into an absolute art form. One might argue that the Speaker found the uprising on her left flank to be motivational and has acted accordingly, but this is only supposition. The fact is Pelosi made Trump fold his State of the Union cards so forcefully that he broke the table and spilled his dwindling pile of chips all over the floor right in front of the whole wide world. It was a powerful thing to see. …” – William Rivers Pitt, truthout

I don’t think that Pelosi was playing a “brinksmanship” game with the State of the Union address. She was simply “telling it like it is”: giving that speech on the floor of the House of Representatives with the required security so threatened by the president’s own temper tantrum shutdown of the federal government was simply unfeasible and unreasonable. Her position was based on fact, not fantasy, and was totally realistic. This shutdown has always been only about Don the Con so the only appropriate time for the speech was whenever he “chose” to end his temper tantrum. I just don’t want to see a reprise of it in a couple of weeks and I certainly don’t want federal money chasing after a bogus wall on the border. There are too many important issues here that need the money, from the nation’s infrastructure to education to healthcare. And on and on.

He’s too old and a lot of people (not enough) realized what a mistake it was to vote for him. There are too many good candidates running this time. There wont be the allure.

I have a feeling Roger will never cooperate and will be a douche until the day he dies.

He is still bragging that he was part of Watergate, so I imagine he is even prouder working with our enemy, the russians, to subvert the USA even more.

Good for Hillary. I’m a Democrat and have always been one. I support Democrats, not people who try to use the Democratic Party and then abuse it. Bernie Sanders is the sole member of the “Party of Me.” That’s fine but he should not pretend or use the media to pretend that he’s “the same as a” Democrat. Democrats in Congress have had to beg him for his vote. He’s always been about himself and himself only.

Who says or what law states that Bernie has to be included in any of the Democratic primaries? If he wants to run, let him run as an independent and to hell with the inclusion from the Democrats. Hillary is right.

Old codger cant get it thru his old brain cells that he takes votes away to provide for the republican ticket. Or maybe putin has his hands in that cookie jar too.

  7. anon January 26, 2019 at 9:33 pm

I want a president with good posture. Bernie has less than ideal posture.

    • Anon January 27, 2019 at 7:46 am

And I want a president who combs his hair. Bernie always looks like he just rolled out of bed.

      • Gryphen January 27, 2019 at 7:53 am

        Bed?

Bernie looks like he has been sleeping in his car under a bridge for the last twenty years.

If the Democrats don’t have an epic death wish they’ll squash this flat before it gains momentum.

The simple truth is that I do not want another old white man representing me as my President. Why can’t some of these people realize that they do the most good by staying in the senate and doing their jobs there.

    • Anonymous January 27, 2019 at 5:59 am

      Hubris.

I don’t want any more presidents from Texas for a few decades. I think we’ve had quite enough for a while. Let a few other states have a chance.

  10. KanaW January 27, 2019 at 10:31 am

I’m beginning to think that he’s either a megalomaniac himself, or he’s another sodding Russian agent. He’s never sponsored any bills that passed, he has no backers/compatriots in Congress who would help him if he were elected, he has no idea how to work with people to get things passed. Sheesh.

    • Beaglemom January 27, 2019 at 12:51 pm

I agree with you, KanaW. Way back when, in Soviet-era times, Sanders had a bit of a “crush” on the Soviet Union and one of his advisors during primaries before the 2016 election had some kind of contact with the Russians trying to hard to influence the outcome of the election. I don’t trust him. I don’t like him. I do not think that, for all his years in Congress, Sanders has ever shown himself to be a statesman. An opportunist, yes, but a statesman, no.

Too late. Too old. Time to step aside and let someone else carry the water.
