Axios claims that Trump is now daring Robert Mueller to subpoena him.

I actually agree with this.

President Trump will not voluntarily answer questions about obstruction of justice, gambling that Robert Mueller won’t have the stomach for a court fight.

A source close to Trump’s legal team tauntingly tells us it’s “Mueller’s moment of truth.”

In a high-stakes move designed to force Robert Mueller’s hand, Giuliani said Trump won’t answer the feds’ questions — in writing or in person — about whether he tried to block the probe into Russian election interference.

Trump’s lawyers are betting that Mueller won’t have the heart for the multi-month court fight that would result from trying to compel the president to be interviewed.

The White House bet: Mueller will blink and ultimately issue an incomplete report, avoiding the stakes of a court battle.

The source close to the president’s team explained: “Mueller backed off from a demand for a face-to-face, to get to a compromise of written Q-and-A on Russia. And Rudy still says no. What is Mueller to do now?”

A source with direct knowledge of the Trump’s legal team machinations said “there is no strategy” beyond the PR tactic of threatening Mueller, and attempting to bruise him as much as possible.

To be clear Trump is now engaged in a high stakes game of chicken with the Special Counsel appointed to discover if he was working with the Russians to steal the 2016 election.

However, I would disagree that Mueller’s report will be “incomplete” as I think he already has plenty of evidence to write his report.

Keep in mind that Bob Woodward did not have access to Trump either, and yet his book has proven devastating to the Trump Administration.

I also find it very interesting that this public relations battle is the only strategy that the Trump team has in dealing with the investigation.

Essentially they are placing all of Trump’s eggs in a poorly constructed basket of denial, misinformation, and conservative propaganda.

That’s their only strategy because they are guilty as sin. What else can they do but bluff?

” Daniel’s attorney, Michael Avenatti, blasted the move as part of a strategy to keep Trump and Cohen from being disposed in the case and possibly be forced to reveal other stealth payments to quiet other damaging information.

“What they’re trying to do is they don’t want me to get a chance to depose Michael Cohen and Donald Trump,” Avenatti said on CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” Friday night. He called it a “Hail Mary to try and avoid that, that’s my first guess.” “A lawyer for Cohen stated in a legal status report filed Friday in Los Angeles federal court that his client “seeks the rescission of the Confidential Settlement Agreement dated October 28, 2016,” The Washington Post reported. The filing included Cohen’s promise not to sue Daniels for any contract breach. He also reserved the right to seek the return of the money.

Attorney Brent Blakely said in statement to CNN that the filing “effectively put an end to the lawsuits,” adding that the “rescission … will result in Ms. Clifford returning to Essential Consultants the $130,000 she received in consideration, as required by California law.”
“Avenatti tweeted that he and his client will “never” settle their pending cases against Cohen and his company “absent full disclosure.” He accused Cohen of still trying to protect Trump.

He also told The Washington Post that the offer is “going nowhere” because Trump “hasn’t offered anything. He would have to agree for the NDA to be void,”

Mueller doesn’t need Trump. He has plenty for a report and Manafort will eventually flip too. Trump won’t be subpoenaed by Mueller. He’ll be answering to Congress under impeachment.
