Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski does not appear to be terribly worried about a challenge from Sarah Palin.

And why would she be?

Courtesy of The Hill:

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is not worried about a 2022 challenge from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), who has suggested she could run for the Senate because of the incumbent’s opposition to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“I don’t know the former governor’s interest in being involved in elected politics again and she’s really been out of the picture in the state for many years now,” Murkowski told The Hill.

“I don’t know whether this is just wishful thinking by some that would like to see me out so they’re looking for names,” she added.

I think the translation for “she’s really been out of the picture in the state for many years now,” is “What? that bitch still lives here?”

The article goes on to identify Sean Hannity as one of the people really pushing for Palin to challenge Murkowski, but who really listens to Hannity except of course that guy in the White House?

Personally, I would love for Palin to run against Murkowski because it would provide plenty of fodder for this blog, and it would be a slow moving train wreck of epic proportions.

But we all know she won’t so it is stupid for us to get our hopes up.

Maybe if we dared her?

If there is a way for Palin to make money off of a senate run, she might do it.

Wishful thinking, it ain’t going to happen.

Palin is too lazy to work. She would rather give word salad speeches to obscure riff-raff fringe organizations and turn up in Hollywood on a reality TV ‘show.’

Saah should really concentrate on not getting murdered by her own son Track.

According to RealClearPolitics, Democratic candidates are well-positioned, though not guaranteed, to win at least eight governorships in the 2018 midterms – Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, Maine and New Mexico. Nevada, Kansas and Georgia are also in play.

Sarah isn’t going to run, the truth about why she quit would come out, maybe she is stupid enough to think people have forgotten that she is a quitter, but I doubt Alaskans have.

Didn’t they have to have a special election because she QUIT?

Besides I thought sarah threatened to leave AK and pollute the lower 48.

There was no special election. When she quit her Lt. Governor Sean Parnell finished out her term.

The GOP coalition in the Alaska House and Senate never really liked her as she worked a lot across the aisle, simply because she was happy to let others do the heavy lifting for her. Democratic or Republican mattered not to her as she was in way over her head and hadn’t a clue how government at the state level worked. Much of the good legislation that got passed during her brief tenure, most importantly raising taxes on the oil companies, was constructed by Democrats, which really pissed off he GOP old boys who were more than eager to get her out and get Parnell seated and undo much of what she got passed.

I’ve heard that she was “encouraged” to quit, that or face ethics charges for unreported gifts, monetary and physical, received during the McCain campaign, that she did not properly report, as was required of a sitting Governor. Since Palin was always “miss ethics” to the point of getting others removed from certain positions for small ethics violations, if she was going to continue her political career, which she stupidly thought she was at the time, she couldn’t go out that way with such a black mark on her record, so she quit.

She never had any business being Governor but you couldn’t tell that to the coalition of crazy church ladies who got her elected.

Sarah has too much to hide there is no way she could run for anything. Too much baggage.

But if she could revive her PAC, drain it dry and never have to actually campaign or debate, I’m sure she’d be right on it.

2022 is plenty of time for her to whip up a few more babies. Maybe this time she could try cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy.

      Now THAT made me giggle!

The ads just write themselves. Picture this, in a deep, menacing announcer voice and with an unflattering picture of Sarah in the background: “Sarah Palin had two of the most important jobs in Alaska, Chairman of the Oil and Gas Commission, and Governor. She quit them both. Now she wants to be a senator. Does she know it’s a six year term?” And that’s just off the top of my head. She’s an opposition researcher’s wet dream, can only imagine how entertaining it would be if she actually ran.
