ABC cancels “Roseanne” after Barr posts vile racist tweet about ex-Obama aide Valerie Jarrett.

Boy those Trump supporters are so good at hiding their racism, don’t you think?

Courtesy of The Wrap:

Roseanne Barr waded into racial waters on Monday, suggesting that former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett is a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the “Planet of the Apes.”

“muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr tweeted in response to a post about Jarrett.

Jarrett, who is African-American with no ties to the Sunni Muslim organization known as the Muslim Brotherhood, was one of the most senior and long-term presences in the Obama White House and a lightning rod for right-wing critics.

Roseanne brought up Jarrett in response to an unrelated Twitter comment on this article, which asserted that the Obama CIA had spied on the president of France. Jarrett’s name is unmentioned in the piece.

During the Obama administration, rumors swirled on right-wing blogs that Jarrett secretly intended to promote Islam in the United States and that she once expressed her desire to make America a “more Islamic country.” The fact-checking website Snopes ruled that claim to be false.

Yeah, the racists REALLY hated Valerie Jarrett and Eric Holder, and essentially every black person in the Obama Administration, of course including Obama himself.

Obviously, that hatred has outlasted their tenure at the White House.

Barr attempted to play this whole thing off as nothing more than a joke, but clearly ABC who is producing her come back show applied some pressure.

However, that proved not nearly enough as ABC canceled her show:

ABC canceled its hit sitcom “Roseanne” on Tuesday after the show’s biggest star, Roseanne Barr, went on a racist Twitter rant.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC said. The cancellation comes just months after the show premiered to huge ratings.

Well, you know sometimes justice DOES move pretty fast.

Update Roseanne has now also been dropped by her talent agent.

Barr’s ignorant commentary about George Soros and Chelsea Clinton were equally repugnant in her Twitter tirade. Am glad Barr is off the airwaves yet do feel sorry for the rest of the cast she took down with her. Nevertheless, ABC made America Great Again today.

  2. Anonymous May 29, 2018 at 10:32 am

That was fast – almost like it was spelled out in olives.

Good grief. Just goes to show you that racism is an evil sickness.
Barr had the nerve to apologize for making fun of Jarrett’s politics and looks.
Number one—- repeating Alex Jones’ talking points is not politics; its about being a nincompoop.
Second—calling an African American woman an ape is not about her looks—
its about racist nastiness that has been around for a very long time.

‘- Call Valerie Jarrett an ape
    – accuse dems child sex trafficking
    – tell Hillary Clinton to commit suicide
    – accuse Chelsea Clinton of being part of a Jewish conspiracy
    – call George Soros a Nazi’>”Donald Trump Jr. is retweeting Roseanne’s pretty heinous lie about George Soros”

“The free market won’t abide hate” “But we all need to look at this hate. This hate is not abnormal, it is exactly what it sounds like here in Trump country, where I live. Hatred for Democrats, saying they deserve to be shot, is standard fare. Hatred for immigrants and black people is a given, only with less pleasant language. Crazy conspiracy theories about the Clintons or Obamas or any other Democrat with any power are the norm.”

“The failure of the media to listen to what is actually happening in this country will be our downfall. These people who so love “real America” that they covered Trump’s hate during the primary with all of the obsessive love that those kinds of click dollars can generate are still pretending that “both sides do it.””
” These conspiracy stories aren’t coming from the fringe lunatics, they are coming from the White House. Roseanne is not “economically anxious,” the phrase many used to justify support for Trump even after his racism, assault on women, and more.”
“The media needs to face the reality that Roseanne’s hate is nothing special; it’s exactly what is behind the “real America” they are so obsessed with.”

“a moment of victory for people who are trying to fight for morality and truth and what’s right.””

““Obviously, that’s racist to the nth degree,” Tarlov said of Barr’s tweet. “That’s something that you don’t expect someone in the public eye to do.””

‘“And unfortunately, we have a president at the moment who is kind of giving a broad sense of permission to not be political correct, to speak the way you want, to offend who you want and people shouldn’t say anything about it,””

So now she’ll be losing her “Obamacare” coverage?

Whew. At least she’s still covered under The Affordable Care Act.

Roseanne has been channeling 4chan’s racism, anti-Semitism, and conspiracy theories on Twitter

From Channing Dungey, President of ABC Entertainment: “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.”

There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.

ICM Partners has dropped Roseanne Barr as a client, hours after the sitcom star sent a racist tweet that spurred ABC to cancel her top-rated sitcom.

“We are all greatly distressed by the disgraceful and unacceptable tweet from Roseanne Barr this morning,” ICM Partners said in a statement Tuesday. “What she wrote is antithetical to our core values, both as individuals and as an agency. Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her. Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client.”

Barr signed with ICM last August, just as the reboot of “Roseanne” went into production.

Barr’s talent agency, ICM Partners, dropped her ….”What she wrote is antithetical to our core values, both as individuals and as an agency,” the agency said in a statement. “Consequently, we have notified her that we will not represent her. Effective immediately, Roseanne Barr is no longer a client.” Actress Emma Kenney, who played Roseanne’s granddaughter on the reboot, tweeted that she was in the process of quitting the show when she found out that it had been canceled.

Hell hath frozen over. FOX News isn’t patronizing the bigotry Barr exhibited today. They even lambasted her for perpetrating vile “fringe conspiracies and grossness” Shep Smith “Racism is ugly. She’s a racist. Show is cancelled” <— okie dokie, then!

Finally an American corporation makes a decision based on decency and gives up $$$. An amazing day day in our increasingly money-worshipping country. I might have to start watching ABC – what the heck is on there anyway?

Trump tweet will be coming very soon…So sad..Rosanne is a really nice person..she was treated unfairly by ABC…Network should be boycotted.

  16. Anonymous May 29, 2018 at 12:21 pm

I think Roseanne has a severe case of Trumpitis. Like Trump, she may have an alternate reality situation, thinking along with the success of the reboot and the “power” she thinks came along with that success, gave her immunity on saying anything she wants to say. Like Trump, she forgot that there are still consequences for bad behavior. I do feel bad for Sara Gilbert and the other cast and crew members, and Roseanne owes them a huge apology. Trump will never apologize for anything, I wonder if she is like Trump in that way also. Trump thinks the Mueller investigation is ruining many young lives? I think it is the Trump presidency that is making many lives in the United States much, much worse.

GOP Strategist Steve Schmidt Bluntly Calls Trump And Roseanne Racists

…“What we see as this vile conduct by Roseanne Barr, it’s not a joke. It is a stone cold racist statement by one of the most prominent public supporters of a racist president, who time and time again has shown us his true colors and not for the first time at Charlottesville. Whhe lectures the country and he says there’s good Nazis out there. The one thing we should all be clear on, despite ideological differences, there are no good Nazis. Not there, not here, not back in those days, and certainly not in these days. We see the stirring of the race caldron by this president, part of a deliberate strategy to incite his base with conspiracy theories, with dishonesty, with lying, with race baiting. He is stirring up every worst toxin that’s been buried in the ground in this country, bringing it back to the surface, and he’s doing it on purpose.”

This isn’t about partisan politics. The choice here is one of right and wrong, and basic humanity. Steve Schmidt along with many other Republicans who have been all but removed from their party since Trump took over understand that what Trump is promoting for his own political gain is vile, disgusting, and dangerous to the country. Schmidt was right. Trump is doing this on purpose. Roseanne Barr amplified what Trump tells his supporters every single day.

    GREITENS PULLS A PALIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    now about July 3, 2009 😉

    • Anonymous May 29, 2018 at 6:42 pm

“In mid-April, a Missouri state House committee released a report alleging that Greitens subjected a woman to non-consensual sexual activity and violence. Greitens described the report as “tabloid trash gossip” rooted in “lies and falsehoods.”
“The time has come though to tend to those who have been wounded and to care for those who need us most,” Greitens said in his speech on Tuesday. “So, for the moment, let us walk off the battlefield with our heads held high. We have a good and proud story to tell our children. Let’s love them, and each other every day.””<WTF Battlefield?

      • anonymous May 29, 2018 at 7:30 pm

Greitens made a dill* and then resigns?

Maybe Sarah has some thoughts and prayers for the Show Me Shame?

*Shits and grins clip of Sarah Palin saying deal:

        • July 3 2009 May 30, 2018 at 3:45 am

Greitens, a former Navy SEAL and Rhodes scholar, came into office criticizing “corrupt career politicians.” He repeatedly clashed with fellow Republicans on issues such as lawmaker pay and his moves to create a majority on the State Board of Education that would fire the education commissioner — a priority Greitens never fully explained.

A nonprofit formed to promote Greitens’ political agenda, using funds from non-disclosed donors, ran attack ads against Republican Sen. Rob Schaaf, a frequent critic of opposed Greitens’ proposals and tactics.

“Every time Greitens attacks the senators or calls us all career politicians, that makes Parson look better,” Sen. Paul Wieland, a St. Louis-area Republican who butted heads with Greitens, said shortly after Greitens was indicted.

“When I look at the two of them, here’s one of the biggest differences: Parson respects the office, he respects the institution of the Senate, he respects state government, he respects this building,” Wieland said.

Replace Greitens with Palin and see how that bogus moose chili looks!
It might be enough to make you wonder what was up with Conservatives4Palin!

  26. Anonymous May 29, 2018 at 3:50 pm

A little more oomph! I would expect the reply from Sarah Gilbert, but not all are on Roseanne’s side.

    • Anonymous May 30, 2018 at 1:13 am

Bull. Sara’s throwing herself a pity party. She knew exactly what she was signing on for. Did she really think Roseanne would feel LESS empowered to say disgustingly racist shit with a highly rated show? Roseanne’s always had delusions of grandeur, much like her hero trump. Sara had to know that the immediate renewal of the series would only embolden Roseanne.

  27. anonymous May 29, 2018 at 3:53 pm

I used to think her idiotic character was an act. Not anymore. She really is a bigoted, ignorant, and stupid women.
